Our Mission To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world Our Vision To put God s grace into action and shine as a beacon of love, help, healing, hope and joy
OBJECTIVES EXPAND our inclusive, Christ-centered community through inspiring worship, discipleship, and fellowship opportunities, EQUIP children, youth, and adults to become disciples of Jesus Christ through relevant, life-changing ministries, IMPACT the world by engaging in targeted programs and missions, both locally and globally, BUILD on our church s rich heritage by continuing to be an active and visible partner with Prosper and surrounding communities.
Our Strategic Priorities Based on this Vision, what strategic priorities should we pursue at this time? Children Local Ministry Adult Discipleship { } This does not mean that PUMC s other ministries are unimportant! Strategic priorities are the areas where the church should invest additional resources in order to best achieve the vision
Strategic Priority 1: Children Institute an attractive and dynamic children s ministry in order to develop the faith of our children who are vital to the life of our church
Strategic Priority 2: Adult Discipleship Discipleship starts with Relationship relationships with people and with the Church. Finding people who want to go deeper into their faith journey. Our faith journeys range from those just beginning the journey to folks who ve been on the road for a while.
Strategic Priority 3: Local Ministry Identify and develop the local ministries needed in Prosper and Surrounding Communities. These could be based on need, based on topics which other churches will not address due to theological beliefs, and/or based on church member support and interest.
Property & Facilities Factors that Informed Our Discussion Past studies conducted by PUMC regarding current land/facilities Feedback in congregational survey Area demographic information Data from other churches Rough cost estimates Prayer!
Property & Facilities Key Conclusions Current facility limits future growth potential Current land not sufficient for significant expansion; unlikely to acquire enough contiguous land Community expected to grow significantly in the near future New land opportunities are limited and will become more expensive in the future
Property & Facilities Recommendations Identify a future location that can serve the needs of the church for future generations Purchase approx. 15-20 acres using money from the Vision Fund Move to the new site at some point in the future (see next slide) Create opportunities for congregational input in developing the future campus (i.e. design, capital campaign, etc.) Make modest improvements as necessary at Church St. to allow for growth until we relocate
