CRIMOND EVENING PRAYER Elder Jay Thompson PRESENTATION OF EVENING OFFERINGS OFFERTORY: O Sacred Head, Now Wounded O sacred Head, now wounded, With grief and shame weighed down; Now scornfully surrounded With thorns, thine only crown; O sacred Head, what glory, What bliss till now was thine! Yet, though despised and gory, I joy to call thee mine. What, thou, my Lord, hast suffered Was all for sinners gain: Mine, mine was the transgression, But thine the deadly pain. Lo, here I fall, my Savior! Tis I deserve thy place; Look on me with thy favor, Vouchsafe to me thy grace. What language shall I borrow To thank thee, dearest Friend, For this, thy dying sorrow, Thy pity without end? O make me thine forever; And should I fainting be, Lord, let me never, never Outlive my love to thee. The Worship Ensemble J. S. To Be Noted Thank you for turning off cell phones during the worship service. Please leave any food or drink outside the Sanctuary. Nurseries for children up to the age of four are provided in the Thornwell Education Building. Parents of children who have been in the Nursery are asked to come for them promptly after the conclusion of the service. A quiet room with a live video feed of the service is available in Thornwell, Room 113. There, mothers may attend to the needs of their children. The Sanctuary is equipped with a hearing assistance system. Please ask deacons for a receiver. The beautiful Easter lilies adorning the sanctuary today have been given to the glory of God, as an expression of praise for the Risen Lord, and in gratitude for other believers, some of them among us, others already in the presence of Christ. Easter lilies may be picked up following the Evening Service. They must be picked up by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22. Special Easter Offering Impacting Our Continent The white envelopes in the pew racks give us an opportunity to contribute to our Special Easter Offering which will be used to support the five church plants and mission churches under the care of the Catawba Presbytery. These works are sprinkled throughout the Columbia area as well as in Charleston and on the west coast, and our Special Easter Offering is a vital means of investing ourselves in the building of his Church. I Peter 5:1-5 So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: 2 shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; 3 not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.5 Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
