Sermon Notes July 15, 2018 Heaven Bound Hebrews 4:1-11 Key Text: Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves (2 Cor. 13:5) Key Thought: Those with a dead faith will not enter Heaven s rest, but only those with a living faith will enter. 1) Intro & Context 2) The goal of ETERNAL rest (vv. 1,6,9-11) (cf. CONGREGATIONAL MEETING, SUNDAY, JULY 22 WHAT S UP! Pastor Steve will be on vacation July 21-31. There is still time to get your picture in if you haven t already done so. ********* Help!?! The cleaning sign-up sheet has turned over a new page and is needing volunteers to help clean the church. The church is divided up into sections so that all the work doesn t fall on one person. Can you spare about an hour a week for a month? Your help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ********* Save Your Quarters! On Saturday, July 21, Juanita Arellanos and her laundromat ministry team will be going to local laundromats to bless people by paying for their laundry. They are collecting quarters and there is a piggy bank available in the gathering area to collect them. Thank you!
BIRTHDAY PARTY!! Iris Jensen will be turning 95 in December, but her children and grandchildren want to celebrate her birthday now and are holding an open house for her at the Dubuque Arboretum, on the Gene Heineman Screened Porch (Adjacent to the Gift Shop), Saturday, July 21, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The gift of your presence is the only gift necessary, however, if you would like to shower Iris with cards, she will enjoy reading them. Light appetizers, cake and punch will be served.
