2018 Annual Report This Week's Scripture Church Directory App Information Announcements CONFIRMATION SUNDAY IS March 3. Six youth are making promises to follow God. A reception hosted by the Belonging ministry team will follow the late service. Flowers are given to the glory of God in celebration of the Confirmation class by Diane Byars. YOUNG ADULTS' LUNCH is March 3 at 12:15 p.m., We'll gather near the coffee bar to decide together where to eat. Lunch is on us! Sunday Suppers take place on the first Sunday of each month. We cook in the morning and deliver the food mid-afternoon to Trinity United Methodist Church. At Sunday Suppers, we have an opportunity not only to prepare and serve the food, but also to sit down and get acquainted with these friends who typically have housing but face other life challenges. ASH WEDNESDAY WORSHIP IS MARCH 6 AT 6:00 P.M. We enter the season of Lent with the marking of ashes on our foreheads as a sign of our intentions to follow Jesus to the cross and resurrection. Building Stronger Marriages meets this Friday, March 8 at 6:00 p.m., Upper Witherspoon, We ll have a brief discussion followed by Date Night. Childcare is offered with reservation a week ahead. MIDDLE SCHOOL LUNCH On March 10, we ll meet in the Gathering Place after 11 o clock worship to go to Ci-Ci s pizza together. $5.00 per person and Middle School budget will cover the rest for the buffet and drink. Girl Scout Sunday is March 10. Please wear your uniforms as you lead us in worship! THE PARENTS GROUP IS OFF TO A GREAT START! You re invited as we discuss The Best Yes by Lysa Terkeurst and also deepen friendships. We ll meet March 13 in Calvin 201 at 11 o clock. Childcare is provided ($5.00/one child, $8.oo/two children). FIRST FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM on March 14 will be "University Museum Revitalization? " presented by Mary Suter, Curator of Collections, at the University of Arkansas. She will discuss the various collections that they have and new efforts being made to increase their visibility in the community. Lunch at 11:30, $8.00, at FUPC Upper Witherspoon. CLEARING THE CLUTTER - Would you like to get organized, but don t know where to start? First School is sponsoring a fun event that may help and it s open to any who would like to attend. Let Laurie Malloy, professional organizer, personal life coach, and engaging presenter, speak into your life. Thursday, March 28, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $5.00 at the door. RSVP to Cathy at chairston@fupcfay.org (or by calling First School, 571-4516). Childcare is provided. Please be sure to request it with your reservation. Senior High Youthquake, March 29-31, Join us for the yearly 9th-12th grade Presbytery retreat at Ferncliff! This year's theme is "Tough Love." Cost of the retreat is $95. Sign up with Brianne by Friday, March 22. Support UPY Summer Conference Trips. We have nine youth from FUPC participating in the Presbytery of Arkansas trips to Mo Ranch, Triennium, and Montreat. Attending a conference as a teenager is valuable for faith formation, but these conferences aren't cheap. In the month of March, we encourage you to stop by the table in the Gathering Place to learn more about the trips, to sign up for the trip prayer list, or to pick up a donation envelope to contribute toward scholarships that make these trips possible for our teenagers. 3

Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Family Services is a mission of the Presbyterian Church located in Monticello, AR. It provides housing for youth and families in transition. The annual fundraiser, a garden party, including refreshments, live music, a silent auction and an opportunity to learn about helping children and families in need will be held 3:30-6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Peel Mansion in Bentonville. To donate an item for the silent auction, become a sponsor, or purchase tickets for the event, contact Diane Warren, 595-4774, or diane@dianewarrenlaw.com. Tickets are $35 each or $200 for a table of six. A table is set up in the Gathering Place today. PLEASE SIGN UP TO HELP WITH WELCOME AND HOSPITALITY THROUGH THE COFFEE BAR.
