Happy Easter! He is risen, alleluia, alleluia! Easter is a wonderful season where our Lord comes to us, strengthens us, and helps us know He is with us on all our journeys. I would like you to stop, say a brief prayer to Jesus right now asking Him to help open your eyes towards the new journeys He is leading you towards. Consider with me three examples from scripture of people like you and me who were called to journeys and what they said at first: Jeremiah - Sorry God, I m just not old enough to help You. Moses - God, I m not a public speaker. Samuel - Someone keeps calling my name. Am I making this up? In each case, they doubted their call from God. In each case they HAD a call from God they accepted, and were blessed. In each case, they COULDN T carry out God s call on their own, and God provided someone who would help them. Who do you see yourself as out of these three people? God is calling you and me on a journey this year. Our parish, yours and mine, desperately needs 6 to 10 English speaking catechists for the program this fall to help our youth become and stay Catholic. Perhaps the first thing you said after reading that sentence was, That s not me. And yet, IT IS. The good news about Jesus is not something we can keep to ourselves. (Matt 28:19,20) We have an obligation to share it with others, starting with our youth. Parents have the greatest responsibility, and by means of each child s baptism, we as a community share in this responsibility as well. So, how can we? Realize that answering God s call only requires our YES to Him. Why? Because the Holy Spirit will help you - guaranteed! Do not be anxious about how or what you are to answer or what you are to say; for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say." (Luke.11b,12) Once we realize that God only requires our YES, we can actually move on to the next step. Make yourself available to God s call. Parents understand the necessity of being available to their children. Our young ones can t get to church, school. or sports without us. They rely on us for food, shelter, and physical and emotional support. Can you imagine where our youth would be in life if when they needed us we didn t do what needed to be done? What will happen to our children spiritually if we aren t available to them in this way as well? Pray right now please, that God will help you answer His call to be a catechist even though you don t see how you can. And come see me soon so we can talk. Your fellow servant in Christ, Chris Dear Jesus, in everything I say and in everything I do, in everything today may it glorify you!

From Msgr. Frank Chiodo Easter greetings to all: The tomb was empty; Christ had risen from the dead, and now He wishes to occupy not a grave where the dead are placed, but our hearts where he brings Power, Strength, Healing, Joy, Eternal Life and Peace. Invite Jesus in a new way into your heart, your home, your life. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make our Holy Week a blessed event once again. To our choirs and musicians, lectors, ushers, ext. ministers, and servers at the altar, especially our Masters of Ceremonies. We are grateful to Mary Ann Wilkinson and Margaret Beener and their team of sacristans for all the detailed preparations for the services. Special thanks to Pat Civitate and the choir. And thanks to Patrick Connolly, subdeacon in charge. Thank you to Mary Wills and Jeannie Knight for decorating the church for our Easter Liturgies. Thank you to Georgia Ryan and the RCIA team for preparing those who came into the church this Easter. I am sure the Lord is delighted with the beautiful lilies adorning the sanctuary. Thanks to the Randa family. Enclosed in this bulletin is a little money an Easter gift. Take a look at it and read the message on the back. The message is worth more than a million dollars -it reminds us of the treasure which is our Catholic Faith. Pass it on. Have a Blessed Easter season. WANTED There is a need for an office angel or volunteer to come in one afternoon a week to record sacraments into the sacrament books. Training will be provided. Must be able to print and use a typewriter. If interested contact Stephanie at 244-4709 or info@stanthonydsm.org Thank you to Gary, Danny & Lewis Randa for the beautiful Easter flowers.
