Volume 51, Issue 1 Dear Brother Knights and Family, The month of July has come and gone and we can be thankful that we had a great month. The July 4th Picnic was a complete success thanks to the efforts of many Brother Knights. The Knights and families had a great time. I wish to express my thanks to all who helped, especially PGK Jimmy Rogers for the great 4th of July speech and the Pledge of Allegiance. On July 20th, the community celebrated the 22nd Crab and Seafood Festival put on by the Five Families. Thanks to PGK s Bill Dewey and Mike Borkowski and many Brother Knights for all their hard work. Despite the temperature hovering in the mid-90s, everyone had a good time and the food was great. Take a deep breath - Bingo attendance seems to be on the rise keep your fingers crossed and don t let up the press of inviting people to come out and play. Thanks to Inside Guard Jeff May and his wife Tabatha for the help selling Instants. Bingo Teams as still thin and could use some help. If you have some time, talk to the Bingo/Instants Managers and see how you can help out. Don t forget Fr. McGivney s Birthday on Aug 12th and the Council Charter Day on Aug 21st 61 years young. As I have seen when I first joined the Knights and this council, and especially in the past year, our council, its members and our families have been brought together from loss and benefited from so many blessings. The small and large, silent and overt examples of fraternity and charity that our members have shown others have exemplified our Christian values and built on our council s legacy. As Blessed Mother Theresa has said, Not all of us can do great things. But we all can do small things with great love. It is with this and our history in mind, I would ask you to do a small thing - bring a member knight to a council meeting or be part of one of our active activities. I look forward to our fellowship together.
