Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. Revelation 22:17 release CAPITAL GIVING CAMPAIGN living spring christian fellowship
Hello friends, When I look over the last seven years of my time here at Living Spring I am amazed at what God has done through our church family. We have distributed tens of thousands of bags of groceries to needy families, given away thousands of articles of clothing and have helped displaced people find food, shelter and showers. A couple years ago, we decided to ditch church on a Sunday and help our community fix up three houses. The transformation was incredible and we began a wonderful relationship with city officials. This year we were able to transform four houses. Our Toys for Tots program has brought Christmas to hundreds of children and our backpack distribution effort has brought hundreds of backpacks to the neediest kids in elementary schools around our church. These have been great programs. However, nothing compares to a life changed by the redeeming work of God through a relationship with Jesus. We have seen first hand the amazing work of God in people s lives. Marriages have been healed, addictions have been overcome and relationships have been restored. We have seen people battling depression, fear and anxiety rise up with a new hope and joy as they apply God s scriptures to their lives and join a community of other people on a similar journey. I believe that God is just getting started! Living Spring is about to enter the next season of ministry. In order to do this we must repair and redesign our property for ministry in the 21st century. Areas that have been neglected desperately need repair and, as we meet the needs of our church family as well as meeting the needs of the community, our property must be repurposed. This capital campaign is called Release. Our property has been an incredible gift from God and He has put us in charge of it. It is time to release all the potential that this gift has to offer. Our patio area, children s play equipment, bathrooms and fellowship hall are not just spaces. They are vehicles to REACH our community with God s love, RESTORE lives to a healthy relationship with the Son and to RESPOND to a move of God s Spirit. This campaign is going to stretch us. It is going to stretch us to dream, to exercise our faith and to sacrifice for our church family and for those who have yet to be touched by God s Spirit to join our journey. I pray that our church will boldly step into this new season with deeper intimacy with God and a renewed love for others. Journeying with you, Pastor John
dreams Jesus was out with his disciples when they went to get some food. Jesus stayed back, sat down at a well and struck up a conversation with a woman of Samaria. In that day Jews did not like Samaritans and women were not respected. Jesus broke through all of those barriers and, for the first time, revealed himself as the Messiah! He said, Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life. The whole town ended up following Jesus because of her testimony. When she woke up that morning I ll bet she never dreamed that she would be used in such way. This is often how God works. The Release campaign is about looking to what God has yet to do as we share the Living Water with those in our care. Artists rendition of patio area. Our dream is that the outside of our property reflects the health of the inside of our church.
legacy Artist rendition of proposed children s area. One day Jesus was doing some really important ministry. The disciples felt that some children were getting in the way and they told the kids to stay away from Jesus. Jesus corrected his disciples! Even with all the important ministry Jesus was doing, He still told the disciples to allow the children to come to Him. He said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. To Jesus, kids are important. Leaving a legacy is more than providing play equipment. It s designing an environment that will provide a safe and fun place for children to encounter Jesus in a tangible way. Just like He commanded. They are our future church leaders and, more importantly, they are a part of our church family. CHILDREN S CENTER Renovation includes two play structures for preschool and elementary, padded play area and back area closed off for safe enclosure.
Before stewardship Artists rendition of Fellowship Hall. In the book of Matthew Jesus told a parable about a man who owned a lot of property. He left on a journey and gave his servants responsibility to care for his property, each according to their own ability. When he returned, two of the servants produced a high return on their investments and were praised by the owner. One just did the status quo and was rebuked by the owner. God has given Living Spring property to use in order to help His kingdom thrive in our community. The Release Campaign is all about investing in this great asset that God has entrusted to us to maintain it well and repurpose it in order to get the maximum return we can! Remodel includes raised ceiling, new floor and sound treatment and upgraded look and feel as well as kitchen upgrades. FELLOWSHIP HALL / KITCHEN REMODEL
faith Jesus was walking on the water one evening and the disciples started to freak out. Can you imagine what they were experiencing? Jesus told them to take courage and Peter, at Jesus command, took one of the biggest steps of faith recorded in the Bible. He stepped out on the water. What an unbelievable account of obedience and trust in God. He made it a few steps and Jesus had to grab him and explain that faith could have taken him farther. The Release Campaign is our step of faith. We believe that God is calling us to a new adventure with Him. This adventure will affect the impact Living Spring makes for eternity. PATIO AREA/WELCOME CENTER Plans include an open space for Sunday fellowship, a welcome center, shaded gathering areas and outdoor reception amenities. Before Artists rendition on patio renovation.
sacrifice One day a woman came to Jesus and, in front of a group of important people, poured out an alabaster flask of very expensive perfume on Jesus feet. She humbled herself even further by wiping His feet with her hair. Even the disciples could not understand this kind of devotion and worship. This was most likely her life s savings and was valued at a year s salary. What a sacrifice of worship for God! What Living Spring does in the community is important. But what is more important is our worship of an awesome God. The self-denial this woman showed was tremendous. It s the kind of release we want to see in everyone s life. It starts with sacrifice. We encourage you to seek God for the sacrifice He might have you make to partner with us as we eagerly await the release of this new chapter at Living Spring. Plans include the renovation and upgrade of all campus bathrooms including showers for displaced neighbors. BATHROOM / SHOWERS REMODEL
