PAGE 2 News & Announcements The Longest Night Thurs, Dec 20, 7 PM For some, Christmas brings sadness instead of joy a season of darkness arising because of grief, depression, isolation, trauma, and physical or mental illness. The Longest Night is a worship service for those touched by the darkness this year. Music, lament, prayers, and reflection will gently accompany us in the darkness. Come early for social time hosted by TLC s Stephen Ministers. Sundays December 23 & 30 Services at 10 AM Special services of Lessons & Carols at 10 AM on each of the next two Sundays. We ll sing favorite Advent and/or Christmas carols interspersed with readings for the day. See you there! A short devotional will precede the walk using An Advent Devotional by Butch Odom. In the event of rain or snow, we will carpool to the Alderwood Mall. Come each Friday morning in December. The group may continue in the new year. Call or email Bruce Sutherland (425-478-5725; bsdbsutherland@comcast.net) or EdnaMae Olufson- Smith (206-914-3927 ednamae2@me.com). Save the Date: Annual Congregational Budget Meeting Sun, Jan 20, 11:45 AM You may have noticed we didn t hold an annual budget meeting this Nov/Dec! The Congregational Council, at the recommendation of the Finance & Stewardship Committees, moved this annual meeting to the end of January so that year end income and expense could be factored into the budgeting process. This will also allow more time for informational forums to be held in mid-january in advance of the meeting. A potluck will accompany the meeting. Stay tuned for more information!

December 20, 2018 PAGE 3 DECEMBER: A MONTH FOR GENEROSITY Consider a special year-end gift to Trinity! It has been a wonderful year, and there is much to be grateful for: our vibrant ministries of music, service, worship, children & families, justice & peace, faith formation, outreach and of course our new pastor! Trinity depends on strong December offerings. 2019 will be a year of growth here at Trinity, and your gift now will help assure a strong start. Many give online (giving.trinitylutheranchurch.com), but we still pass the offering plate. No matter how or how much you give: THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY! Tuesdays With Phoebe: Women Exploring Faith Tue, Jan 29, 6:30 PM Tuesdays with Phoebe will be meeting Tuesday, January 29 at 6:30 PM at Trinity in the second floor youth room. Book for the new year is Ruth and Esther (LifeChange) by The Navigators, and we will read Lesson 1 for this first meeting. Books can be found on Amazon, just search Ruth and Esther. Contact April Zepeda with questions: aprilandbrian@comcast.net.
