Opening Hymn TS 854 Let evʼrything that, evʼrything that, evʼrything that has breath, praise the Lord. Let evʼrything that, evʼrything that, evʼrything that has breath, praise the Lord. Praise you in the morning, praise you in the evening, praise you when I m young and when I m old. Praise you when I m laughing, praise you when I m grieving, praise you ev ry season of the soul. If we could see how much you re worth, your pow r, your might, your endless love, then surely we would never cease to praise. Praise you in the heavens, joining with the angels, praising you for ever and a day. Praise you on the earth now, joining with creation, calling all the nations to your praise. If they could see how much you re worth, your pow r, your might, your endless love, then surely we would never cease to praise. Greeting Let evʼrything that, evʼrything that, evʼrything that has breath, praise the Lord. Let evʼrything that, evʼrything that, evʼrything that has breath, praise the Lord. Come close to God, and he will come close to you. James 4.8 The Lord our God is worthy to receive glory and honour and power, for he has redeemed us. Revelation 4.11; 5.9 1997 Thankyou Music Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, in our worship, help us to sing your praise, confess our sins, hear your word and bring our prayers to you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Welcome and Introduction read by a Guide - ( Kate Mc Niece ) Penitence -Read by the Cubs. ( Toby Newman and Charlie Lynn ) Reader 1 If we say we have never been naughty, we are not speaking the truth. If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just. He will forgive us and cleanse us from all our sins. Let us confess our sins to God our Father. Reader 2 Lord God, our maker and our redeemer, this is your world and we are your people: come among us and save us. We have not looked after the wonderful world you created; Lord, be merciful: forgive us our sin. Reader 1 We have seen others being treated badly and bullied. We have not helped them as we should: Lord, be merciful: forgive us our sin. Reader 2 We have not stood up against evil, or spoken up for the poor and oppressed; Lord, be merciful: forgive us our sin. Reader 1 We have heard the good news of Jesus Christ, but have failed to tell other people about Him; Lord, be merciful: forgive us our sin. Reader 2 We have not loved you with all our heart, we have not loved others the way we love ourselves; Lord, be merciful: forgive us our sin.

Absolution God who is both power and love, forgive you and free you from your sins, heal and strengthen you by his Spirit, and raise you to new life in Christ our Lord. Amen. COLLECT Lord, you have taught us that all our doings without love are nothing worth: Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love, the true bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whoever lives is counted dead before you. Grant this for your only Son Jesus Christ s sake. Amen. 1 st Reading read by a Scout (Megan Rodgers) 33 Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes and I shall keep it to the end. 34 Give me understanding and I shall keep your law; I shall keep it with my whole heart. 35 Lead me in the path of your commandments, for therein is my delight. 36 Incline my heart to your testimonies and not to unjust gain. 37 Turn away my eyes lest they gaze on vanities; O give me life in your ways. 38 Confirm to your servant your promise, which stands for all who fear you. 39 Turn away the reproach which I dread, because your judgements are good. 40 Behold, I long for your commandments; in your righteousness give me life. This is the word of the Lord. Thanks be to God

Hymn (Psalm) S102 My Jesus, My Saviour, Lord there is no one like you, All of my days, I want to praise The wonders of Your mighty love. My comfort, my shelter, Tower of refuge and strength Let every breath, all that I am Never cease to worship You. Shout to the Lord, all the earth let us sing, Power and majesty, praise to the King! Mountains bow down and the seas will roar, At the sound of your name! I sing for joy at the work of your hands, Forever I'll love you, forever I'll stand Nothing compares to the promise I have in You. Darlene Zschech (b. 1965) Second Reading read by a Brownie (Annabelle Kingston) Mark 12: 28-34 28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, Of all the commandments, which is the most important? 29 The most important one, answered Jesus, is this: Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. 32 Well said, teacher, the man replied. You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbour as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, You are not far from the kingdom of God. And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions. This is the word of the Lord. Thanks be to God

Hymn TS627 All who are thirsty, all who are weak, come to the fountain, dip your heart in the stream of life. Let the pain and the sorrow be washed away in the waves of his mercy as deep cries out to deep. (We sing) Come, Lord Jesus, come. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Holy Spirit, come. Holy Spirit, come. As deep cries out to deep. As deep cries out to deep. Prayers Led by: A Brownie ( Olivia Beavis) 1. Heavenly Father, Today we give thanks to you for all the young people of our parish for those who take part in our Uniformed Organisations and those who attend Sunday School. We thank you for the opportunity given to us to learn more about you, and to grow closer to you. Lord in your mercy hear our prayer. 2. Heavenly Father, We thank you today for our Youth Leaders and our Sunday School Teachers. They give up their time for us. They prepare lessons which help us to learn more about you. Strengthen them in all that they do, and encourage them in their own faith. Lord in your mercy hear our prayer. 3. Heavenly Father, we pray for children throughout the world. We know that we are very lucky that we live in a country that is rich in comparison with many parts of the world. We pray for children who have no food, or clean water, no home, or family. We pray for children who live on the streets of big cities, children who have no school, no doctors and no hospitals. Help us Lord, always to be thankful for all that we have, and to help others whenever we can. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. 4. Heavenly Father, We pray for all those who are sick. We pray for those from our own parish, our families and our community who are sick at home, or in hospital, or in nursing homes. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. 5. Heavenly Father, We thank you for the Bible and its words of instruction for our lives. Help us to follow the way of your Commandments and guide us to fulfil our duty towards You and our neighbour. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. We sum up our prayers and say the Lord s prayer together.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. Offertory Hymn 581 (Collection taken up by Rainbows and Beavers) I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry, all who dwell in dark and sin my hand will save. I, who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send? Here I am, Lord Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my people s pain. I have wept for love of them. they turn away. I will break their hearts of stone, give them hearts for love alone. I will speak my word to them. Whom shall I send? I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame. I will set a feast for them, my hand will save. Finest bread I will provide till their hearts be satisfied. I will give my life to them. Whom shall I send? Words & Music: Daniel Schutte based on Isaiah 6:8 and 1 Samuel 3

PRESENTATION OF SUNDAY SCHOOL CERTIFICATES The Rector, assisted by the Sunday School Superintendent, Mrs Carol Livingstone, will present the Sunday School Children with certificates to recognise their Attendance record. CLOSING PRAYERS. BLESSING. Hymn S64 In Christ alone my hope is found, he is my light, my strength, my song; this Cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone! - who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save: 'til on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied - for every sin on Him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay, light of the world by darkness slain: then bursting forth in glorious Day up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory, sin's curse has lost its grip on me, for I am His and He is mine - bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me; from life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand; till He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I'll stand! Songwriters: ANDREW SHAWN CRAIG, DONALD A. KOCH Universal Music Publishing Group DISMISSAL Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. In the name of Christ. Amen

The congregation is asked to leave the church before the members of the Uniformed Organisations, and to wait outside (weather permitting) for the Youth Parade back to the hall. With many thanks to all the Teachers, Leaders and Helpers, who give so much of their own time to teach in Sunday School, and in running the Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts in our parish. Their work with the young people in our parish is very much appreciated and greatly valued. So to all of you, we extend a very big and a very sincere Thank You!
