The extended toddler curriculum provides older toddlers with the Bible Truth and craft element that some are ready to experience before they enter the twos. The same Bible Truth will be told in four (or five) different ways throughout the month allowing for the repetition toddlers need and crave. Bible Time Draw It Craft Time Happy Face Play Time Where Are You?
Bible Time Gather children on a rug or in a specific area of the classroom to tell the Bible Truth. Some kids (especially the younger ones) may wander. That s OK. They re still listening and learning! What You Need: Preschool Bible, butcher paper, markers LEADER: Hello, friends! I am so excited to see you today. And I m so excited about this month. You see, we re going to be learning all about someone special that God made. Point your thumbs to your chest like this. (Demonstrate.) That s the special someone God made. Yes. [Bottom Line] God made you. It says so right in the Bible! (Draw a simple outline of a person on the butcher paper and point to each body part as you talk about it.) God made your head. Point to your head. God made your nose. Point to your nose. God made your tummy. Point to your tummy. God made your knees. Point to your knees. God made your feet. Point to your feet. Great job! God made each and every part of you. [Bottom Line] God made you. God made each and every one of us wonderful in our own special way. There is no one exactly like you. ALL of us are wonderfully made. God made us with curly hair, straight hair, and in-between hair! He made us with green eyes, brown eyes, and blue eyes, too! God made all of us special. We are ALL wonderfully made! So remember, [Bottom Line] God made you.
Craft Time Gather small groups of children around you at a table for toddler craft time. Depending on the size of your group, you may lead the craft two or three times. Not every child may want to participate in craft time. That s OK. Feel free to send home the craft materials for them to complete with their mom or dad. What You Need: Happy Face Activity Page, happy face stickers, crayons What You Do: During the Activity: Retell the Bible Truth as the children put happy face stickers onto the heads of the people on the page. Tip: Hand each child a sticker, one at a time. What You Say: During the Activity: Today we heard all about someone special that God made. Who is that special person? (Pause.) Yes, you! [Bottom Line] God made you. It says so right in the Bible! God made each and every part of you. He made your head, your nose, your belly, your knees, and your toes. God made each and every one of us wonderful in our own special way. There is no one exactly like you. ALL of us are wonderfully made. God made us with curly hair, straight hair, and in-between hair! He made us with green eyes, brown eyes, and blue eyes, too! Look at your paper. It says, God made you, at the bottom. Who did God make? Raise your hand if God made you! Yes, [Bottom Line] God made you. I see some people just like you on this page. But we need to add their faces. I have stickers for you to add faces to our people. Then we can color them in. Great job! God made all of us special. We are ALL wonderfully made! So remember, [Bottom Line] God made you.
