Bernard Reiser Council 10138, 10360 Flamingo St. NW, Coon Rapids, MN 554334832 Email address: gk10138@yahoo.com Grand Knight s Message By Gary Vorpahl Brother Knights and Ladies Auxiliary, What happened to Fall? We went from a beautiful Fall to snow and cold in a few days!! Well, we always seem to deal with it. On Sunday November 16th I was at the Special Olympics at Brunswick Bowl as a volunteer, it was a uplifting experience.. the excitement and drive of these athletics was a real learning experience for me.. I will do this again next year and would advise all Knights to experience this. We had a good turnout from our District and Council for this event. Our first brunch was Sunday November 9th for Vocations.. We had an excellent turnout of hungry people, and great help from our Council.. Our annual Christmas party will be Thursday December 18th... starting at 6pm.. as always this is a potluck, bring a dish to share. I heard from a good source that Santa and Nana Claus will be there too! This is a family event please bring children or grandchildren or relatives that would like to attend. This will take place in the Hearth Room. As always if you know of a friend or relative who would be a good candidate for the Knights of Columbus please consider asking them to join. Page 2 Field Agent By Alan Savage KC Companions By Pat Carlson Dear Brother Knights: Let Us Remember Father McGivney s Vision Dear Epiphany Brothers & Families, It is December. I want to wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas, and to celebrate 2014 as well as upcoming 2015. Now more than ever, our family becomes the spotlight of our lives. We think about how we celebrate the birth of Christ and we think of all the ways that we can give our loved ones, friends and family, something by the way of a gift or card. Let us think now about the most precious gift. The ability to give to charity, give your family the much needed protection they deserve, and show your family by the way of life insurance and other protection, they so deserve. A life insurance policy is a great stocking stuffer, that will not be discarded a week or two after the holidays, but be with them for a wonderful long life. Let me visit with you this December how you can give your family the greatest gift all: Peace of Mind. I wish you all to have a wonderful Christmas season and New Years, and hope to meet with you this December for giving a present of guaranteed security. Leviticus 19:32 tells us Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the old, and fear your God. I am the LORD. Our goal is to provide companionship to people who may otherwise be lonely at the twilight of their lives. Please consider joining our ministry! If you would like to learn more about the KC Companions, please contact me or Membership Director Don Koehler at dkoehler@brownandbigelow.com. All meetings will be in the Hearth Room. Council Events KofC Refugee Fund Dear Brother Knights Within the last month there was a mailing from Knights of Columbus Charities sent to all active members. In response to the persecution of our Catholic brothers and sisters of the middleeast and etc. the order has established the Christian Refugee Relief Fund to assist Christians and other religious minorities who face extinction. It has been in the news that people are being driven from homes and regions where their families have lived for centuries simply for their faith. Did you know that worldwide, about 100,000 Christians were murdered every year from 2000 to 2010 and that 75% of the world population live in areas with severe religious restrictions? Please make a gift of $10, $15, $20 or even more if your heart thus guides you. Make your check payable to Knights of Columbus Charities and mail to: Knights of Columbus Charities, Inc. 1 Columbus Plaza PO Box 1966 New Haven CT 065091966 Please remember our persecuted brothers and sister in your daily prayers and special intentions.
