I, for one, felt a sense of deepening partnership. I want to follow up on a conversation I believe we as a community want to have regarding a healthy response to technology - for our Middle Schoolers in particular. How do we enjoy the blessings of technology but not have it become, unwittingly, our master? What is the experience we observe as we view our childrens' use of technology: Pleasure and pride in their choices and ability to critique? Or, a sense of powerlessness and loss of connection as they are more connected? What messages and values do we want our children to adopt? They will adopt values about their use of it this is certain. Which ones do we aspire that they adopt? I will be running two opportunities for our community to meet to talk together about this: one a breakfast for the On-The-Way-To-Work among you and one in the afternoon. Let s work together to support each other in this space. Your thoughts and comments are welcome through email or phone call also. I will add them to the mix. At our first Middle School assembly last week I was delighted to have 6 of our young men volunteer to pray for their teachers. Here we saw students not only valuing their teachers but valuing prayer. God promises that He hears us as we pray and will respond. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6 As we pray we acknowledge our need for God, in all things. Thankfulness and gratitude can help us gain perspective. God deeply cares, deeply loves, deeply understands. "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7 Thank you for your prayers for our school and for all involved in the establishment of deep learning and deep hope.
Boarding Program We are so blessed to welcome our Indigenous Boarder s to school and boarding for 2019, displaying their infectious enthusiasm and zest for life and education. Leaving family and community to board at Marrara Christian College is a great challenge experienced by our students, and we are grateful and thankful to be given the opportunity to sow God s love into their lives through education and boarding. Welcome back boarders! Joel Norton Boarding Manager

Meet The Prefects Hey! I'm Keziah Dimmick and I'm one of the Year 11 prefects for 2019. I joined Marrara when I was in Year 4. Some of my favourite things to do in my spare time is to watch TV and hang with my friends. On Friday nights I attend youth at Darwin Baptist, and on Sundays I attend church at Darwin Baptist Church. I really enjoy going to youth and church. Every other Sunday I am a helper in kids church and I love seeing young children eager to learn about Jesus. I wanted to be a part of the prefect body for 2019 to give back to the school community and to serve those a part of the community. I am excited for what 2019 will bring for the prefect body and I hope we bring a positive attitude to the Marrara community. Hi everyone! My name is Christian Alfred Suelila, you can call me Alfred. I am new in the prefect team with my older brother John. I moved to Darwin from the Philippines a year ago with my whole family. Marrara Christian College welcomed me and my family with warm and open arms. Last year was the greatest memories I have ever had in my whole Senior School life. I thank God for sending me to Marrara Christian College, where I've met beautiful and awesome people. I will do my best to be a great prefect, to the best of my abilities. Hi! I'm Jessica Marquez and I have been at Marrara Christian College since Year 1. This year I will be one of the Year 12 prefects! I am so excited to see what God has planned for the College and the prefect team. I am so happy to be a part of this year s prefect team and being able to serve our community. I love the community we have here at Marrara, and I cannot wait to see what we can achieve together this year. I look forward to seeing you around and please feel free to say hello to me! Hebrews 10:24-25 God bless you! Hey everyone! My name is Luke Twartz. I ve lived in Darwin my whole life, and have attended Marrara Christian College for all my schooling. I m new to this 'prefect thing' but I have had experience in leading. A fun fact about me is that in my spare time I love to umpire AFL. Umpiring has given me more confidence in making decisions, and I'm enjoying teaching people how to umpire.
