This gives these gentlemen an opportunity to use their time helping others while giving them a purpose each day. Our religious ed kids will also benefit from this project as they learn to cut strips and loop them together to make the ball of yarn that we will send to the prison, A great opportunity for them to do service for others. On October 23, 1879 a newspaper was published in Ireland called The Ireland Argus. In 1922, the Ireland High School published The Beacon. Later in 1950 the high school published The Irish Gazette. Now in this century we have The Ireland Times. Ireland Elementary students along with their mentor, Susan Gossett, will be present to tell us about this newspaper. Please come and learn how these 3rd-5th graders put this paper together. The public is invited. Please come and bring a friend. Refreshments provided following the program.
