LENTEN AND HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE SEVEN CHURCHES TOUR HOLY THURSDAY, APRIL 18 We invite you to join your fellow Holy Infant parishioners in the ancient devo on of Visi ng Seven Churches on April 18 following our Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord s Supper. You are welcome to ride the bus ($10 fee) or caravan behind the bus as we journey to 6 churches to pray before their Altars of Repose. Please call or stop by the Parish Office (636) 227-7440 to make your reserva on for the bus. Reserva ons and money are due to the parish office by Monday, April 15.

Dear Parishioners, This coming Tuesday, April 16th, our eighth grade students from Holy Infant School will be leading a Living Sta ons of the Cross for the parish at 7:00 p.m. in church. Throughout Lent, our eighth graders have been praying with our Lord's Passion and preparing this evening in hopes to bring the parish together to walk with Jesus on his way to Calvary. Together, we will experience the Sta ons of the Cross through powerful readings, medita ve ac ng and beau fully performed music. Our prayer for you is that as we embark on this journey, we may all be able to enter fully into this year's Holy Week. This Thursday is Holy Thursday. Holy Thursday brings the season of Lent to an end. On that night, beginning at 7:00 p.m., we will begin the Triduum (which is the La n word meaning Three Days. ) These three days are very important. I encourage you to make these Three Days different from all the days of the year. It would be great if all the adults in our community could plan ahead, so that the en re me from Thursday evening un l the Easter Vigil is free of all social engagements, free of entertainment, free of meals except for simple nourishment. We are asked to fast during Good Friday and to con nue fas ng, if possible, all through Holy Saturday as strictly as we can, so that we come hungry and full of excitement to the Easter Vigil. We make Good Friday and Holy Saturday free for prayer and reflec on and prepara on and silence. The church is ge ng ready. Whether you are young or old, currently ac ve in the parish or not, please set these days aside. All of us should know that our presence for the liturgies is not just by invita on. We are all needed here. On these Three Days, we gather a number of mes. Together, we will hear some of the church s most beau ful prayers and scriptures and we make some of our finest music. Holy Thursday Here at Holy Infant, we will enter into these three days together on Holy Thursday night. A er listening to the Word of God, we will do something strange: we will wash feet - with pitchers of water, basins and towels. You know, Jesus gave us this profound image of what the church is supposed to look like, feel like, act like. This is rehearsal for Chris an life, as is the next thing we do: a collec on for the poor. Later, we celebrate the Eucharist. The evening liturgy has no ending: whether we stay and pray for a while or leave, we are now in the quiet and peace and glory of the Triduum. Good Friday At 3:00 in the a ernoon, all are welcome to come to church to pray the Sta ons of the Cross. We will gather quietly on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in church and listen to scripture. We will pray at length for the needs of the whole world. Then, there is another once-a-year event; the Holy Cross is held up in our midst and we come forward one by one to do reverence with a kiss or a bow or a genuflec on. We con nue in fas ng and prayer and vigil, in rest and quiet through Saturday. Holy Saturday At 8:00 p.m., we will gather in the darkness of church and light a new fire and the Easter candle that will make this night bright for us. We will listen to some of the most powerful scriptures in the Bible, and then we will pray to all our saints to stand with us as we go to the font and bless the waters. There, our catechumen will be bap zed and anointed. These are the moments when death and life meet, when we reject evil and give our promises to God. Together we go to the table and celebrate the Easter Eucharist. Easter Sunday begins and we are ready for Fi y Days of rejoicing. God s blessings to you and your family. P O C : Please note, the Parish Office will be closed Good Friday. Our staff wishes you a joyous Easter as we celebrate in the Resurrec on of our Lord.

Venturing Crews can decide their purpose and objectives. Our crew primarily seeks high adventure experiences in the outdoors. We also do other fun things, having about one activity a month and a big trip in the summer. Because we are part of the Boy Scouts, we have available to us the excellent facilities of the Greater St. Louis Area Council, and the national High Adventure bases. We also belong to an active Venturing Officers Association which sponsors several large activities each year for Crews, Posts, and Ships in the St. Louis area. We are open to new members at any time during the year, and those who are considering joining may participate in up to two activities before making a decision. You can join Venturing if you are at least 13 years old and have completed eighth grade or when you turn 14. You can remain a Venturer until you turn 21. We also welcome adults of any age who need more adventure in their life. You can be a member of a Venturing Crew while you remain active as a Boy Scout or Girl Scout, and we also have members who have never been a scout. Former Boy Scouts who reached at least First Class rank can continue to advance toward Eagle Scout within the crew until they turn 18. We meet every other Sunday.
