The Communicant Dear Brother Knights, spouses, and social club members, Grand Knight s Letter I hope the love of Christ and the fire of the Holy Spirit is alive in all of you! Our May Council business meeting will be held on Monday, May 2. Last month the Trustees (Dave Gagermeier, Ollie Thibodeaux, and Tom Mattingly) presented an initial slate of officers for our next fraternal year which begins on July 1. The Council will vote on officers at the June Council meeting. There is still time to consider additions to the slate of officers. If you are a Third Degree Knight think about serving as an officer next year or suggesting a worthy brother knight you feel would make a good officer, contact one of the Trustees or just come to the May meeting with your ideas. Please plan to attend the May Council meeting as we will make plans for spring and summer events. Your suggestions and comments are always welcome. A complete list of officers is always included in The Communicant. On April 8-10 DGK Kevin Hahn, FS Charlie Fadale and I attended the 110 th Annual of the Indiana State Knights of Columbus. We heard several inspiring presentations on Pro-Life topics, rediscovering Catholicism by Matthew Kelly, the history of the US flag, met and socialized with brother knights from around the state, and got some ideas about programs and events that other Councils have done. At the Annual new State Officers were elected for the next fraternal year and we learned that Supreme has initiated a new Third Degree ceremony that will be used starting on July 1. We have a First Degree initiation on Monday, May 23; this is a week later than our usual schedule and is the last First Degree in this fraternal year. Please recruit a Northside Catholic gentleman to join our Council and come to the ceremony. Don t forget that our Council is the best place in town to enjoy Mother s Day Brunch with your family and friends. Details are in this issue of The Communicant. Save the date: our annual golf outing is set for Thursday, June 16 at Saddlebrook Golf Club. We are looking for golfers (believe me you do not have to be any good to have a good time at our event), hole sponsors and door prizes. All proceeds go to charity. Contact Kevin Henn or myself. I hope to see you soon at one of our council or club events. Stop by and see all the great things that are happening at Council 3433 and the Northside K of C Social Club. Sincerely, Al Hirt, GK POOL OPENS SATURDAY MAY 28th @ 10:30 AM!!! Memberships are still available!
