I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. John 13:14-16 Tuesday morning study at at the church. We are studying Elijah! OOppeenneedd ttoo aal ll!!! It s August already and summer is half over. As I drive along I see the Queen Anne s lace blooming on the sides of the road and in the fields. As a child we would pick this pretty weed and put it in a vase of water. My mother would take food coloring and add it to the water and before long the white flower would turn red or green or yellow or blue, whatever color she would add. For us, it was a science lesson on how the plant absorbs the water and how it moves up through the stem into the whole plant. As a pastor I see it in a different way. I see it as a lesson on how the color of our lives and walk with Christ can influence others. The way we act, the way we love, the way we live our lives, can and does have an effect on those around us. The question is, as Christians, what colors are we adding to other s lives? What are others absorbing from being with us? Summer is a great time to step back and spend time with the Lord and spend time reassessing who we are; where we are; and what is our part in the body of Christ. Last week we hosted Vacation Bible School. Often it is in the faces and voices of our children that we find our answers. The children sang and danced with glee. They learned that they were created for a purpose and they are special to God. These young people brought the colors of joy and love into our church and joy and love into the hearts of all the volunteers. Jesus was our best example. He colors our lives daily. Let His example flow into your life and heart and you will see others bloom with beautiful new colors. You are invited to come and join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Come and add color to our lives. This group meets on Fridays at Bring a "brown bag" supper Interested?
