For this week, all bulletin notices, dates, etc, need to be with Karen by 9.00am on Wednesday thank you. St. Giles Community Book Fair For practical reasons, the Community Book Fair has had to be postponed from March until September. We appreciate that lots of people have been saving up books for the Fair so if you would like to donate them now, rather than hanging on to them until the autumn, please give them to Johanna Langheld or leave them at the back of church. More details of the event will be provided in April. Bishop s Bible challenge starting this Lent Bishop Paul is laying down a new challenge for people to take-up this Lent. He is encouraging everyone to join in The Bible Challenge a special project encouraging people to read the Bible each day during the year. Bishop Paul said: Instead of thinking what to give up this Lent, I would like to encourage everyone to consider engaging with the Bible in a fresh way. Studies reveal that reading the Bible each day, or even reading scripture four or more times a week can have a transformational effect on people s lives. The Bible Challenge has a range of options for people, from reading suggestions for children to focusing on the Psalms or reading the whole Bible there is something for everyone. For further details on how to take part see: www.dioceseofsouthwell.couk.com/bishopbiblechallenge. Help Required on Sound Rota Help is needed with operating the sound system here at St.Giles. As well as helping us all to hear the services we record all the sermons, and amplify the music groups. No experience is needed as training will be given, commitment is about once per month. If you can help please see Martin Crew or drop him an email on electricalcrew@ntlworld.com

Coming Soon This summer, Bishop Paul will be prayer walking the length and breadth of our Deanery, meeting the people who live and work here and praying for our communities. The walk will take place on 23 rd 27 th May, and will finish with a Confirmation Service here at St Giles. Watch this space for more information. Job Vacancy: Partnerships Officer: Older People (0.5 fte) A new and exciting role which will have a particular focus on assisting parishes and deaneries to develop the ministry of, and mission to older people across the County and City of Nottingham.
