We see beauty in the sacramental life of the Church, especially in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and in adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. We promote goodness in this world, following the example of our Blessed Mother, our Lady of the Visitation, by serving the needs of others.

Kris Dries kdries@stmaryeg.org The Family Rosary is April 14 While meditating upon the mysteries of the holy Rosary, we experience the life, passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Rosary is a prayer with incredible power which has been encouraged by numerous saints and popes. In his Apostolic Letter on the Most Holy Rosary, Pope John Paul II states that praying these mysteries puts us in living communion with Jesus through the heart of His Mother. As a prayer for peace, the Rosary is also, and always has been, a prayer of and for the family. Dear brothers and sisters! A prayer so easy and yet so rich truly deserves to be rediscovered by the Christian community. Rediscover the Rosary in the light of Scripture, in harmony with the Liturgy, and in the context of your daily lives. It is up to us, as a community, to pass this beautiful tradition onto the next generation. Come, bring your children and join your parish family this Sunday, April 14, and the second Sunday of every month, at 5pm in the church. It only takes 30 minutes of your time but will establish a family tradition and gift your children with a lasting devotion. If you would like to help lead a small part of the Family Rosary, please contact Liz Pesci, 262-501-0338 or elizabeth.pesci@gmail.com or Mia Giampietro, 262-385-5477 or miagordon@att.net. Greetings St. Mary s Class of 1976! SMV class of 1976 is looking to find all of their classmates for a reunion this August 10. If you are a graduate from that class or you know someone who is, could you please send their contact information (email preferred) to Maria Garino at garinom@chiaramonte.com. Adoration Chapel Lent has given us the chance to think about the great sacrifices Christ has made for us and how He helps us in our journey through life. It is only in being united with Him that we can attain eternal happiness. If I have everything but Christ I have nothing; if I have nothing but Christ I have everything. (words of St. Bonaventure) Today is the beginning of the holiest week of the year. What are you going to do to make it a truly holy week for you and your family? Attend the liturgical services that are scheduled. Spend time with Jesus in the St. Mary s Perpetual Adoration Chapel a truly inspirational, peaceful place to meditate on the sufferings, death and resurrection of Christ, and an appropriate to offer Him the thanks He is due for giving His life for you! PLEASE NOTE that in keeping with church regulations, the Chapel will be closed from 6pm on Holy Thursday, April 18th until approximately 10pm on Holy Saturday. SCHOOL CALENDAR Ordination Banns Tuesday, April 16 8am All School Mass 2:50pm Bricks 4 Kidz, Makerspace For the Order of the Diaconate Patrick Joseph Magnor Wednesday, April 17 5:11/Spirit Wear Day Good Friday Veneration of the Cross Thursday, April 18 9:45am Living Stations of the Cross, Church 11am Dismissal In the Preface for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, we pray: Father, You decreed that we should be saved through the wood of the cross. The tree of our defeat became our tree of victory; where life was lost, there life has been restored through Christ our Lord. Friday, April 19-Friday, April 26 Easter Break The Church s custom of venerating the wood of the cross began at Jerusalem where the true cross was found in the early part of the 4th century. Since then, every generation of the faithful has longed to Behold the wood of the cross, on which is hung our salvation. The Good Friday liturgy calls for veneration of the cross, not the crucifix; that we focus on the wood, on the tree the instrument of salvation. Christ restored creation by means of the very material which caused its fall. The tree of our defeat became our tree of victory. When we gaze upon the cross, we fix our eyes on the sign of victory over sin and death. In our veneration of the cross on Good Friday, we will be in living contact with the one, undivided Church of past centuries; with the ancient Jerusalem Church; and with Calvary itself.
