Bottom Line: God s got it. Basic Truth: God loves me. Summary: There are a lot of things in life that the children we teach, their moms and dads, our friends, just can t do. That s right. Sometimes we just don t have it. We don t have a handle on our circumstances. We don t have what it takes to makes things better. We don t have the answers, energy, wisdom, patience, solution, or way out of a situation. But, we do know the One who does. And, when you know the One who does, there s no need to worry. God s got it. That s what we re talking about with our preschoolers this month. No need to worry, be afraid or feel alone. God s got it! No matter what the situation or need. No matter how big or small the circumstance. God s got it. Because, God loves us A LOT! And THAT is what we want our preschoolers to know.

Rock Retell Talk About God Bible Story Review Made to Imagine: An activity that lets preschoolers pretend, imagine, and role play to enhance their learning What You Need: Gray butcher paper, floor tape, a stick or a cane, scissors, and blue tissue paper squares or blue construction paper scraps Before the Activity: Cut a large circle from the butcher paper. Tape the circle to the floor in the center of the activity area. This will be your rock. Place the blue paper in a pile near the rock. During the Activity: Retell the story. Have the children participate while you retell by acting like the people in the story. Encourage them to whine and say, I am thirsty, while you are retelling the story. When you get to the part when Moses hits the rock with his staff, tap the gray circle (rock) with the stick or cane. Have the children throw the blue tissue or paper at the rock. Before the Activity: We heard a wonderful Bible story today! During the Activity: Moses was leading people and they were not happy. They were whining about being thirsty. Can you whine about being thirsty like the people did? (Pause.) Great job! Moses knew that God was with them, and he asked God for help. God told Moses to tap the rock with his staff (strike rock with stick or cane), and do you remember what happened next? (Pause.) Yes! Water came from the ROCK! WOW! Everyone grab some blue paper (point) and throw it at the rock. Everyone had water to drink! After the Activity: God was with Moses and the people, and God is always with us too! What You Need: Sponge Painting Activity Page, white cardstock, sponges, blue paint, wet wipes, and paper plates Before the Activity: Copy the Activity Page onto the cardstock. Pour a small amount of paint onto a plate. During the Activity: Help the children dip the sponge into the paint and place it on the water outline on the page. Repeat until all of the water on the page is painted. After the Activity: Allow the pages to dry, and wipe messy fingers with the wipes. Before the Activity: God made water come from a rock. During the Activity: We are going to make a picture of our story that you can use to tell you family all about how God s got it! (Give each child an Activity Page.) I see a rock with water coming out of it, but the water needs a little bit more color. Use your sponge to dip in the paint and color the water. (Do activity.) After the Activity: Nice job!
