Transcription:

Circuit Writer June 2017 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability. Acts 2:1-2 Dear Friends in Christ: Greetings to you all from St. Charles, IL. I am here along with representatives of our Church attending the 178 th Session of the Northern Illinois Annual Conference, The United Methodist Church. It was such a blessing to start off this wonderful conference on the Day of Pentecost. There are hundreds of attendees from all over the Conference and guests from other places. I thank God for this opportunity to represent you all wonderful people at Rock Falls UMC. The theme of the conference this year is Light Shines Through The theme is aptly represented by a painting by Kristine Marshall titled: The Great Hope. More details and information of the proceedings will be presented to the church upon our arrival or in our next Newsletter. Back at our Church, our Membership Committee is faithfully working towards updating our Church Membership Records. We realized that it has not been updated in a long time. As a church we are required to present updated Membership details to the Conference every year. In this regard if you receive a letter from the Committee please update your info and return it for which we will be grateful. Summer vacation has begun; several of our young folks had their graduation parties and are planning for their future studies. Some are planning for vacation and at church we are planning for a fun filled and a blessed Vacation Bible School, please send your children and also please come over to volunteer, I can assure its lots of fun. At the parsonage, we started a small garden with flowering and vegetable plants, along with some Sun flower and Rose plants, it is a beauty to watch them grow and are amazed by the colors of creation. If you would like to come over and spend some time with us, please feel free to do so. Also this month, our family completed our first year of ministry with you all at RF UMC. Thanks for your warm welcome and wonderful hospitality over the year. We are blessed to know so many wonderful folks here. My office as well the parsonage is always open for your visits, come over for a chat or for a cup of coffee. Satya and the girls are doing well, we have started college campus visits for Nima. Finally pray for us as we will be praying for you. Also it is my prayer that the Holy Spirit rests on each one us like the experience of the disciples on the first day of Pentecost and help us in our own faith journeys. God s Blessings! Pastor Solomon
