CELEBRATION OF WORSHIP World Communion Sunday October 4, 2015 The Prelude WE GATHER The Welcome and Announcements The Friendship Register please sign and pass along The Choral Introit and Lighting of the Christ Candles The Greeting The Lord be with you. And also with you. *Responsive Call to Worship We are here to worship a remarkable God. The love of God welcomes us, the grace of Christ will be revealed to us, and the joy of the Spirit will enfold us. *The Hymn 4 Holy God, We Praise Your Name *The Unison Prayer of Confession God, who freely pardon all who repent and turn to You, fulfill in every contrite heart the promise of redeeming grace; forgiving all our sins, and cleansing us from an evil conscience; through the perfect sacrifice of Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen *The Silent Confessional Prayer *The Choral Response *The Assurance Of Pardon LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit. Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. 1

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever. *The Passing of the Peace The peace of Christ be with you all. And also with you. *The Hymn 581 Glory be to the Father WE HEAR AND RESPOND TO GOD S WORD The Time with Children The Hymn Tune Old Testament Reading: Joel 2:12-14 New Testament Reading: Matthew 24: 36-44 The Anthem Break Thou Bread of Life Stan Pethel The Sanctuary Choir D. Keep us from measuring ourselves against neighbors who are slow to serve you; and make us glad whenever people turn to you in faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. 2
