Prayer Line: Jo Kusz 651-771-7438 From the School Principal Whether Large or Small Contribute What You Can! In the Gospel of Mark, he reminds us that the amount of what a person contributes is less important than the sacrifice made to advance the common good. With the 2015 Panther Pride Auction & Benefit a week away, the message conveyed by Mark is as appropriate today as it was centuries ago! Every contribution no matter how large or small helps advance the cause of Catholic education in our local parish community. Your presence at this annual event supports our school in so many ways. On behalf of our grateful students and staff, thank you in advance for your support and the many gifts you provide to our students! The generosity of our sponsors, donors, patrons, participants, and volunteers at this event directly affects each student and teacher. In past years, funds raised at this event have allowed us to improve our facility and purchase resources for the classrooms. Last year we raised over $60,000 which allowed us to purchase a much-needed preschool handwashing sink, repaint the elementary school lockers, improve school security, and purchase LCD projectors to enhance instruction and learning. This event is now in its eighth year, and we continue to be blessed with an outpouring of support from our stakeholders. Next Saturday evening, as we gather once again to enjoy each other s company, let us reflect on the Gospel message articulated by St. Mark that our participation and contributions will make a significant difference in the lives of all our students from preschool through eighth grade. To learn about how you can still support or participate in the Panther Pride Auction & Benefit, visit the website at http://www.presentationofmary.org/ auction/. Thank you for your generosity and your continued support of Presentation School! Peace and blessings, --Pete Noll, Principal Healing Mass at Presentation Fr. Jim Livingston will be visiting Presentation to do a Healing Mass for our community on Tuesday, November 24 th, at 7:30 pm in the church. Fr. Livingston is a gifted priest of the Archdiocese who has committed his life to bring healing into the lives of individuals and communities through healing Masses and chaplaincy ministry. All are welcome to attend and experience healing from all sorts of brokenness in life: physical, spiritual, or emotional. Those who are not in need of any special healing are also welcome to join and pray for others. We begin with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm in the church. No RSVP is required! FFF: Family-centered Faith Formation May God s blessings be on the Faith Formation families who decorated and filled birthday bags for children in poverty. These bags hold the fixings for a birthday cake, candles, plates, etc., and even gifts. These will be delivered to Alley Shoppe where parents in poverty can go and get them for their children s birthdays. Blessings also to the parishioner who delivers the bags to Alley Shoppe. He does this blessed task every year! We, the Church, celebrate the feasts of St. Martin of Tours on the 11 th and St. Frances Cabrini on the 13 th. Both of these had a passion to serve people in poverty. Frances Cabrini is the first American canonized saint. We pray that she will intercede for our country, that it will make laws which protect the dignity of every human person. - Sr. Kathy The Two Feet of Social Concerns Justice: Our JUST PEOPLE Committee met this past week to plan for further involvement and events which will promote justice. Coming up: All are invited to the SOWERS OF JUSTICE ASSEMBLY gathering at St. Olaf s Catholic Church on Thursday, November 12 th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm beginning with a free community meal at 6:00 pm. This event will hopefully be a transformative discussion on RACE. Dr. Nekima Levy-Pounds, a Catholic Charities board member and keynote speaker, will give an inspiring message to help us make meaningful change for our communities. Charity: For all the donations received this past week, including several packages of fresh meat, household furniture items, much-needed paper products, food items, as well as beautiful clean clothing items, thanks and God s generous blessings. As winter approaches, let us be mindful of donating warm clothing items, especially for children. Sometimes little ones can be seen waiting for the bus without warm coats and caps. Kindly check your closets for these and donate the no-longer-needed warm ones. Always in urgent need are quarters for laundry, laundry soap, bus cards, food and gas gift cards.
