Southwest District Congress of Christian Education Dear Christian Friends: Grace and joy to you from God our Father and The Lord Jesus Christ. I greet each and every one of you in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. Welcome to the 80 th annual session of the Southwest District Congress of Christian Education, to convene July 13-17 th 2014 at the First Baptist Church Rockport at 530 E. Moline St. Malvern, AR 72104 Dr. J.N. McCollum, Pastor. First Baptist Rockport Church joyfully greet and welcome all of the messengers from our Association Churches to come to Malvern this week to better equip yourselves for effective work in the ministries of Jesus. I am confident that you will have a wonderful experience of learning, sharing, and growing. We all will be blessed with music from our favorite choirs on Sunday night under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Harris at 7pm. By seeing the condition of the world you know that we need you to come! Come anticipating a very great move of God that will result in a productive and fruitful session because we are living in a confusing time, people want to worship but don t know who and how. Yours in Christ, J.N. McCollum, President P.S. You will receive motel information with this letter. 2

June 25, 2014 Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: Once again, it is Congress time! This will be the second year for the combination of the Southwest District Congress of Christian Education and Youth Revival. We have been, and are in the process of, working to make this event a great success. I believe its success is dependent on our coming together praying, attending, and supporting it in every way. The dean s office is excited about what is being offered to you in the way of education, service projects, fellowship, and worship and praise opportunities as we gather in Malvern in July. Much prayer and preparation has gone forth to try to make this our best Congress yet. There are some exciting new courses that are being offered for adults and youth. New staff has been added. Our youth will learn, and have opportunity to worship through drama, puppet ministry, and liturgical dance. Two community service projects have been added to teach our youth about serving others. Our focus this year will be Solidarity With the Savior Through Our Witness. In previous years, we have explored themes of solidarity through His word, through worship, and through work. If we know His word, and have been involved in worship and work, then we have an obligation to witness and testify through our lifestyles of the goodness of our Savior. I believe that when we work together in love, we can do great things for the building of the Kingdom of God as we seek to serve and impact the lives of all of those around. I want to encourage you pastors, ministers, leaders, adults, and youth of Southwest District to join us in Malvern as we are hosted by First Baptist Church (Rockport) July 13-17, 2014. According to Acts 1:8, to be filled with the spirit is to enjoy that power of God. Come and let us study to be in harmony through our witness, our walk, and our worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Come let us be filled with His spirit, enjoy the blessing of His power, and through our witness for Him, truly turn this world upside down. Be Blessed in Christ, Dean F. L. Smith 3
