Disciple Making Center / Disciple Making Hub (for both small & large churches) Pastors are focusing on Disciple Making and reevaluating ministries in their churches to encourage an emphasis on Disciple Making. Some churches are closing their libraries because they need the space or want to replace it with Disciple Making Centers or Hubs. Are you prepared to offer changes in the traditional church library design so that your church will be able to move forward without throwing out the entire library ministry? This class is taught by a librarian who is actively transforming a traditional church library into a Disciple Making Library HUB and will offer lots of ideas you can implement that will make the library in your church a true Disciple Making Center! Making Disciples After Jesus issued the command to make disciples of all nations in Matthew 28, His followers enthusiastically obeyed His challenge and Christianity spread. As church librarians today, how are we to prepare and equip those we serve to be Disciple Makers? We will look at resources, methods, ideas, etc. you can offer in your church. Mission Control: A Business Approach to Church Libraries Carol Buckles Seeing the big picture, 5 year plans, several methods of selling as well as budgeting strategies.

VIRGINIA CHURCH LIBRARY ASSOCIATION Course, cont d MS Excel for Use Carol Buckles Microsoft Excel is a searchable spreadsheet program that can be used as a "card catalog," for those libraries which cannot afford a purchased system. Processing Children s Teaching Resources Nancy King Making resources more accessible for preschool & children s workers including books, DVD s, teaching pictures, puzzles, etc. Promotion Worthy Are you working hard to grab the attention of readers, updating the look of the library, rewarding patrons with great prizes? But, is it WORTHY of the widow s mite that funds the budget, of the limited time your patrons have for reading, of the effort your team is making to pull it all off? Let s re-examine the WORTHINESS of our library ministry and come away with a list of practical and WORTHY ideas for promotion. Roundtable Discussions Promotion, Let s Talk (includes CVLI copyright) Rah, rah! Ha, ha! Blah, blah What response are you getting with your church library ministry promotion? Becky Moore & Lee Smith Sears List of Subject Headings We will look at the newest 2018 edition of this essential reference tool used to assign subject headings to describe the content of each book.
