THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY MAY 26/27, 2018 From your pastor... I take this opportunity to thank the Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW) for purchasing the beautiful altar cloth that presently graces the altar. They also purchased a second one that will be used in the future. Thank you ladies for making such a wonderful gift.. We learned of hail damage that was done to our school roof when the hail storm hit here in Richland Center a number of weeks ago. Our insurance company, Catholic Mutual has been contacted and we are in the process of getting estimates. Our school roof is only five years old, so I am hoping that we will be covered for the full replacement cost. If it will be replaced, it will be good that school is quickly coming to an end so that the children will not be in any danger during the project. A reminder that our eighth grade graduation Mass followed by the distribution of diplomas takes place Friday, June 1 at 7:00 p.m. in the Church. Graduates for this year are: Sarah Brown, Jenna Cairns, Olivia Gochenaur, Shawn Gorman, Evelyn Jelinek, Riley Johnson, Mitchell McCarvel, Hunter Osorio, Gracee Parker, Julianna Shannon, Aaron Spencer, and Maebelle Weiss. Congratulations and may God bless you as you move on to high school. As you may know, the Diocese of La Crosse has been promoting the cause of sainthood for one of its missionary priests, Father Joseph Walijeski. Much study and investigation has taken place over the past couple of years regarding the worthiness of Father Joe receiving the honors of the altar. Your pastor was involved in giving three and one half hours of testimony regarding his cause for sainthood. The investigation has reached its conclusion and a Mass celebrating the closing of the investigation will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph the Workman this Sunday, Mary 27 th at 10:30 a.m. If you are unable to attend, you can watch it live online at www.diolc.org/live. The Vacation Bible School is scheduled for June 18-22 nd. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children of the parish to receive religious instruction during the summer months. There is a significant amount of work that goes into organizing such an event as well as the need for many volunteers. Candace McGrath, our coordinator for parish religious education heads up this effort. When it is time, be certain to register your children (grandchildren) in a timely way so that planning can be done according to the number of children involved. Until I write again, may God bless you and all the parishioners of Saint Mary Parish. Monsignor Roger J. Scheckel God of power and mercy, you destroy war and put down earthly pride. Banish violence from our midst and wipe away our tears, that we may all deserve to be called your sons and daughters. Keep in your mercy those men and women who have died in the cause of freedom and bring them safely into your kingdom of justice and peace. We ask this though Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen Vacation Bible School June 18th to June 22nd 8:00 to noon Registration due June 1st Applications at St. Mary s School in the main entrance of the church., or rectory office 8th Grade Graduation Mass Friday, June 1st 7:00 pm Please pray for our 8th Grade Graduates!
