At Home with the Lord Remember Lord and welcome into your Kingdom those who have died and gone before us marked in the sign of faith, especially Thomas Dumrauf Please pray for the consolation of his loved ones. Mass of Anointing at St. Anthony s Chapel Sunday, May 22nd The Sacrament of the Sick will be administered during a special Mass on Sunday, May 22nd at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony s Chapel. This administration of the sacrament of the sick in this context is offered for those Catholics who are experiencing physical ailments of a serious nature: those who will be undergoing surgery for serious reasons, the elderly who have become notably weakened even though no serious illness is present, those who are battling serious illnesses and have not been anointed recently, and children who have reached the age of reason and are seriously ill. Eucharistic Adoration & Veneration of the Relic of Sts. Peter & Paul at St. Anthony's Chapel On Sunday, June 5 at 3:00 pm, we will begin to pray the Church's evening prayer before Christ in the Eucharist. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the monstrance at the beginning of evening prayer and the service will conclude with Benediction, Christ imparting His blessing to us in His Eucharistic Presence. Following the service, the faithful who wish to do so will have the opportunity to venerate a relic of one of the saints. For June, it will be the relic of Saints Peter & Paul whose feast day is June 29th. Second Collection The Second Collection this weekend is The Catholic Relief Services Collection. Learn more at www.usccb.org Mass Attendance May 7 & 8 Saturday: 265 Sunday: 369 Total attendance at both churches: 634 From The desk of Fr. Jim Congratulations again to our First Communicants! May our Eucharistic Lord nourish you and guide you all the days of your life. Our most recent dance was a great success. Good music, good food, dancing fun made for a great time for all. We had 111 attend and made a profit of $1,335. Thanks to all who attended and worked this important event in our year. It s been awhile since there s been a report on the work of the Pastoral Council. I can tell you that I cannot be more pleased with how the committees have taken up the challenge of enacting the Pastoral Plan. Each committee is walking through the objectives to meet its assigned goal. The Evangelization Committee to encourage Mass attendance has put together a letter to new parishioners that will be mailed to new registrants beginning with those who have registered in the last few years. After this they will be putting together a bookmark or some other easily distributed and kept means of listing the Mass Schedule. The Eucharist Committee is going to mail a letter to all the Families o our newly Baptized encouraging them to bring their Children to Mass. The Committee has several other goals that still will keep them occupied. Formation and Stewardship Committees are working together toward a Ministry Fair in the Fall to invite new people to participate in the various ministries of the Parishes. They are also looking to schedule a Mission for both Parishes in the Fall. The Catechesis Committee is looking to schedule a Sunday to have a catechetical Mass where the various elements of the Mass are explained as the Mass is celebrated. Deacon Greg is working with them to begin a series Donuts with the Deacon to talk about different aspects of our faith in an informal setting. They are currently working on revitalizing and expanding our Prayer Ministry by encouraging our Home Bound to become part of the Prayer Chain. We have a lot to expect coming up. Thanks to all those who volunteered to staff the committees. Keep up the good work for Jesus and his Church. May the Holy Spirit fill you with his Gifts. Pax, Fr. Jim
