Page 2 June 4, 2017 As I approach the three year anniversary of my arrival at Saint Anthony, I would like to thank all of you for your warm welcome. The school enrollment is back to full capacity, and we have been able to make a lot of improvements to our physical plant. This summer, we are moving our Pre-K classrooms to the main school campus. The students will be more secure there, the parents will have a single drop off point, and our little ones will have access to the school cafeteria for lunch. We are converting the Clubroom into three classrooms for these students. Which brings us to the dearth of meeting space available at our parish: We are looking into building a Parish Center on the site of the old Pre-K campus. The new building will house the Religious Education, Development, Accounting and Ministries offices, as well as provide flexible meeting rooms for the meetings of our various parish ministries. The building will also have a large hall, over twice the size of the Clubroom. There will also be space to add another parking lot, which we surely need. The Archbishop has given us permission to move forward with this project, and I will keep you informed as we get more information on the costs, etc. I wish you all a safe and enjoyable summer! Fr. Michael J. Grady Feast day of St. Anthony of Padua June 13th In honor of the Feast of Saint Anthony a 9 day Novena will be held after the 8:15 a.m. Mass on the following dates: June 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, (11 after 7:30 a.m. Mass), 12, and 13 Parish Ministries Ministry Center Nina Bertke 954-462-2170 Bible/Faith Sharing Group Fr. Novenas remind us of the 9 days that Mary and the Apostles prayed after Jesus' Ascension until Pentecost when the Holy Spirit filled hem with faith and courage.

These Sundays support the faith formation that boys and girls experience in the home. Parents are the first and most important teachers in the faith to their children. PREP joins with parents in a team effort for the fullness of information and formation in the faith. Preparation for First Eucharist (Holy Communion) and/or Confirmation is a two year program with foundation the first year and sacrament reception the second year. For information and registration please contact the PREP Office at. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) : Adults who are considering a journey in faith with Baptism (if not already), First Eucharist (Holy Communion), and Confirmation in the Catholic Church are welcome to join others. The RCIA is the way for inquirers to discover the treasure of the faith as well as for others to explore the spiritual riches in the faith. This group is in the process of forming and will have initial, informal beginning sessions through the summer. The formal sessions will begin in September. For further details call Pat Solenski at. Young Adult Ministry meets every Thursday of each week from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Ministry Center, 215 NE 10th Ave., Ft. Laud., FL 33301. To date, 83 families and groups signed up and more than $300.00 was donated. The generosity and kindness of Saint Anthony Parish Family is a shining beacon. All who volunteered will be contacted by Ministry members to coordinate schedules. If you are interested in providing crisis shelter for two weeks this summer to homeless mothers and their children, please contact Suzanne Weiss 954-494-4632 cell/text or email: suzannezweiss5@gmail.com.
