Please read ahead (available online: About Us Our Beliefs Doctrinal Guidelines) and come ready to interact.

STEVE & DIANA SMITH, Kentucky Mountain Mission, Beattyville, KY The Smiths have worked for decades in this depressed area of Appalachia, involved in jail ministry, school chapel programs, local church ministry, dental clinics, marriage seminars, basketball programs to name a few. Steve and Diana have a ministry which is heavily oriented to youth. Unfortunately, the standard description which fits many of the youth of that area is their parents are either incarcerated, hooked on drugs or dead. KMM s summers are taken up with camping ministry, in which Grace becomes involved. Sunshine Camp is especially devoted to a week of camping for the handicapped, with our church providing camp counselors along with kitchen and maintenance support. The jail ministry has been interrupted recently due to an influx of illegal drugs being slipped into the facility although there are indications that this ministry will be able to be resumed soon. Steve directs the summer camping program and overall maintenance. Diana is the camp song leader and bookkeeper, with all the workload of maintaining the records that are required for a non-profit organization. She has been assured of getting some help in this area. Diana will be having foot surgery on October 25 for a benign tumor. Pray for recovery as she will have to stay off the foot for healing. PRAYER REQUESTS, PRAISES & ANSWERS: Please note your prayer requests on today s response card. Also, remember to tell us how God answers. Nancy Goodwin would like prayers for her grandson, Mark, who recently had surgery to reconnect his colon. Paul & Christy Westover ask for prayers for their brother-in-law, Andy, who has been diagnosed with cancer recently. He has begun chemo for a mass wrapped around his heart. Please pray for him and his family through this walk. He and his wife are both saved. His prognosis is good at this time. Jeanet Towne asks for prayers as she deals with issues for shortness of breath. Pray her doctors will be able to determine the cause without a lot of tests. Jenn Dumser asks for prayers for her sister, Christy Burgess. She had eye surgery to remove buildup from her eye. She will have surgery on the other eye sometime in January. Pray for a quick recovery and complete healing. Lawana Henry - Please pray for my sister Billie Reny. She is in the hospital with a blood infection, edema, weeping in her legs, and has heart problems. Pray her family stays at peace and for complete healing. Thank you and God bless us all. Carol Wells asks for prayers for Laura Bickford and their daughter as her husband passed away this past week. Pray for financial decisions and unity in the family. Shelley Edelman - Please pray for me as I need a job and I m excited to see where God will lead. Pray for the Jewish people who celebrated the Day of Atonement this past week. Pray they will see Jesus as Messiah and the one who paid for their sins. Thank you for your prayers. Cyndi Tomazi - Thank you everyone for the prayers for our family. We had good days with Mackenzie last week. Please continue to pray that we will have more good days. Bless you all. Continue to pray for Ed Prouhet who recently had surgery to repair a torn retina. The surgery was successful, but he is still having cloudy vision from a vein which was damaged by the original tear. Doctors have told him the vein will heal in time, but the clouding is disconcerting, please pray for complete healing and clear vision as they leave for vacation soon. Richard Lukens asks for prayer as he deals with treatment for prostate cancer. Remember Ellen Crahen in your prayers. She is having many health issues and is in Mt. Carmel in O Fallon. Peter & Yvonne Hurlbert would like prayers for Peter s job search and for God s provision for their family. Debbie Helzerman - Pray Dr. Phillips would meet with Marty and receive Jesus as the Messiah as the Scriptures are explained to him. For God to work in Kyle s heart and he would humble himself before God, repent & be saved. He is in a Bible study presently. Mark & Marjorie Schoonover - After our consultation on Monday about the MDS diagnosis we felt we wanted to have a second doctor s opinion. God answered prayer to get us in to see other doctors next week. As a result, chemo treatments will not start yet. Please pray that we would know God s plan for treatment. Thanks for your continued prayers. Jo Carnes - I want to thank all of you for your prayers during my recent illness. I know my coming through those first days and my ultimate recovery are in God s hands. I am very thankful I didn t have to have surgery which is risky. My doctors chose not to take the risk and it was the right decision. Recovery is slow and involves drastic life style changes but I know with God all things are possible. Please continue to pray. Mark & Jodi Revell - without providing any specifics, we d like to ask you to pray for a couple of key ministries with which we are involved that are experiencing a significant amount of opposition. Thank you for standing with us in prayer. Ongoing prayers for long term health battles: Ellen Crahen, Harry Yeakey, Joyce Bowman, Art Kiehne, Roger Rodgers, Leon Arnold, Sheri Libby, Chelle Bell, John Wagner, Bob Shields, Bill Bathman, Mackenzie & Cyndi Tomazi, and Pat Van Housen. Also remember our troops and first responders serving at home and around the world.
