GLENWOOD FOREST NEWS April 7, 2017 GFOA, P.O. BOX 727, GERRARDSTOWN, WV 25420 NOTICE OF GENERAL MEETING OF GFOA Saturday, April 29 at 10:00 AM At the Gerrardstown United Methodist Church AGENDA Call to Order Reading and Approval of Minutes of Last General Meeting President s Rept Chairman s Rept Committee Repts Voting F Board, Treasurer, President and Vice President Positions Other Business Motion to Adjourn Sht Board Meeting Afterward From the President Robbie Alt Hello everyone. I have enjoyed wking with such good people on the Board the last two years. I would like to thank Bob Stevenson f all his wk and time spent as Acting Treasurer. Also, I would like to thank Jeremy and Teresa Bernhardt f all their volunteer wk as Chairman of the Roads and Secretary. I believe we have all accomplished many positive things during the past two years, including lowering the dues to $300.00, which will stay the same this coming year. We've made improvements to Glenwood Fest, such as the Basketball Court f everyone to enjoy, and made repairs and improvements to the mailbox area, and certain roads as necessary. The Board is here to represent the homeowners in the Fest, and I appreciate the suggestions that you all make so Glenwood Fest is a better, safer place to live. Thank you and God bless.

CHAIRPERSON REPORT Hello everyone - I am pleased to rept that the Board has made progress in many areas, by wking together, researching suggestions, ideas, and taking care of needed repairs and improvements. Presently, we have a few projects to complete, so we need to let the dust settle a bit befe we start anything new. We are always open to hearing from residents and giving any suggestion our consideration. If you have internet access, please visit our web site, glenwoodfest.g, and click on "about GFOA" and you will find a list of Board members, with email addresses and phone numbers. You may use the web site itself to contact us, email, phone. The Board represents the people, and will look into any reasonable request. Our delinquent dues committee is still very active, continuing to collect past dues, going to Court when necessary, and plan to continue this process as long as needed. Other committees are also active, all wking toward making Glenwood Fest a better, safer place to live. Security Rept April 2017 Things have been relatively quiet in the Fest since the last general meeting. We are however, wking on added security protection with GFOA decals f the windshield. When displayed properly they will allow our Security Officer, Lt. Bob Hough and Neighbhood Watch volunteers to identify a resident immediately. Knowing who should be here and who should not, will make the Fest a safer place. Those without decals will be stopped by our Security officer f proof of residency. Me infmation will be presented at the Spring General meeting and the decals will be available. Any questions concerns about security please feel free to contact me at 304-671-1362 email me at Blondeewv@hotmail.com. Thank you Valerie Harne, Security Liaison Neighbhood Watch Because the majity of complaints I receive are related to trash, debris and dumping, etc. I thought this infmation would be helpful to residents who aren't subscribers to the Apple Valley Waste home pick up service. Berkeley County Residents can self-haul to Berkeley County Solid Waste Authity and can recycle at Berkeley County Solid Waste and Recycling at 8701 Grapevine road. 870 Grapevine Rd, Martinsburg, WV 25405 Hours of Operation Thursday 9AM 5PM Friday 9AM 5PM Saturday 9AM 5PM Sunday Closed Monday Closed Tuesday 9AM 5PM Wednesday 9AM 5PM Phone: (304) 267-9370

Continued Neighbhood Watch Rept 1. Berkeley County has a landfill located in Hedgesville called LCS that is open to the public and is owned by Waste Management. Their phone number is 304-754-9153. There is also a transfer station in Jefferson County on Leetown Rd. Their number is 304-728-0430. 2. You would need to contact the landfill the transfer station regarding what they charge. Apple Valley Waste does offer Pay By The Bag, however. 3. Every resident of WV is required to show monthly proof of disposal but that does not necessarily mean curbside pickup. 4. You would need to take your trash to a facility that accepts waste. 5. If there is a violation of the state trash code, such as large accumulations of trash burning, you can file a litter complaint with the Berkeley County Solid Waste Authity at their website www.berkeleycountyrecycling.com. If you have filed in the past I believe you know where to find the fm. 6. I found the Health Dept phone number on the internet. 304-263-5131. You could call and get their email. Another useful number is Berkeley County Engineering who handle unsafe living conditions, tall grass, and unlicensed vehicles. Their number is 304-264-1966. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Valerie Harne is replacing Bob Stevenson as Acting Treasurer as Bob only agreed to do it temparily. The Board would like to thank Bob f his many months of taking care of GFOA monies. Due to this change happening recently, there will not be a Treasurer's Rept at the Spring Meeting - there will be a Financial Review done and presented at the Fall meeting. Our CPA, Ms Hess, is having health issues, and asked that we find a replacement. Three CPA's were interviewed, and Mr. Avey of Martinsburg was chosen. Teresa and Jeremy Bernhardt have resigned as Secretary and Chairman of Roads, respectively. The Board would like to thank them f their years of wk. We are asking f volunteers to fill these positions. Please contact the Board if you are interested, either through our web site, by mail to PO Box 727, Gerrardstown, contact a Board member Money was transferred to the Reserve Fund (aka "rainy day fund") to bring the total to $50,000.00. Dues will remain the same - $300.00 f the coming year. Repairs have been made to the mailbox area, reinfced the mailboxes at the P.O. request, and removed the retaining wall due to deteriation. Extensive repairs are being made to Possum Hollow due to road crumbling to avoid me expensive repairs in the future, f everyone's safety. Basketball Court is almost complete, hopefully blacktopping will be finished in the very near future.

The GFOA will be electing three new Board Members, Treasurer, President and Vice President. Below are the bios of some of the people interested in these positions. Bruce Barnes I have lived in Glenwood Fest since September 2015. I would like to be considered f President of the Glenwood Fest HOA f several reasons. First, I have a strong sense of community involvement and believe that I could guide the HOA in a direction that would make our community a safer, and better place to live. Second, as a member of the military f 24 years I have developed leadership techniques that I feel will enhance meetings between the Board of Directs and residents. I would be committed to fge strong relationships within the community and the HOA. Third, after attending the semiannual meetings, I feel that I can streamline the process of those meetings and enhance the participation rate. I have led several meetings during my military and civilian career. In addition, I have a B.S. Degree in Human Resources Management which has enhanced my ability to solve a myriad of problems on many committees. In the sht time that I have lived here, I have been impressed with the current HOA Board members and what I feel is a strong commitment on their part to make this community one of the best in the area. If elected, you will get a resident President that is 100% committed to helping solve any and all problems, take into consideration any suggestions and wk hard to earn your trust. Patrick Finger My name is Patrick Finger. I am currently serving as Vice President and running f my second term. We have accomplished many good things in my time here and I have met numerous good people in Glenwood Fest. Team wk is very imptant to me and I strive to let our homeowners and renters know what is happening so they can give us their opinions and helpful input. I have been a part of the very successful collection of delinquent dues. I have wked on, and helped several committees over the past two years and find it rewarding to help make our community better f all of us. Your vote would be appreciated very much. Thank you. Valerie Clay-Harne My name is Valerie Clay-Harne and I am running f the GFOA Treasurer position. I have been a resident of the Fest f seven years and am currently the Security Liaison. I was recently appointed, temparily, to the position of Treasurer by the GFOA President. If elected I will be wking closely with the Bruce Avey, CPA firm to keep the financial accounts balanced. This is a challenging position and I look fward to meeting that challenge with your vote. Thank you.

Sue Finger Hello everyone, my name is Sue Finger, and I am running f a Board position. We have lived here seven years, and I have served as Secretary, Board member, and Chairperson. I am on committees presently, and have helped dispense decals, along with doing research on various things, and generally do whatever I can to move fward in a positive manner to make our Fest a better place to live f everyone. I would appreciate your vote so I may continue as a Board member. Thank you! Pat Barney My name is Pat Barney and I am running f a Board position. I have lived in Glenwood Fest f 26 years, many of which I have served on the Board. Since living here so long, I know much of the histy and things that have happened, and the results. I willingly share this infmation with the Board, so when repeat things happen we can hopefully solve them right way. I care about Glenwood Fest and all the people that live here. I would like to continue serving on the Board, so your vote would be appreciated. Thank you. Scott Hton Hello fellow Glenwood Fest Residents, My name is Scott Hton and I would like to ask f your vote f a direct s seat on the HOA. I have served on the board befe and served as chairperson f the security committee. I helped make many positive moves and suggestions while in both positions. Due to a medical problem I had to resign, but, am now ready to return to the board and would like your help in this endeav. A little lady named KATRINA blew me up here from New Orleans and I have lived in Glenwood Fest f over 10 years. So, once again I would like the opptunity to serve the community and MAKE GLENWOOD GREATER. Thank You
