Vinnie is looking for parishioners who reflect our community and who are eager to participate through study, reflection and recommendations. The PPC meets the first Wednesday evening of each month from September through June. Interested? Please reach out to either Fr. Vinnie at padre@olossharon.org or 781-784-2265, or to the PPC cochair, Ann Marie Rosa at ann.marie.rosa@comcast.net. The new members will be selected by mid-june. The term begins in September 2016. What s Happening at OLOS COFFEE IN THE GARDEN Please join us for Coffee in the Garden on Sunday, June 5th 9:30 am 10:30 am, as we remember the life and legacy of our former pastor, Fr. Robert Bullock, and mark the 11 th anniversary of his death. We will move our growing Sustainable Coffee Hour outside by the Bullock Center (or inside the Bullock Center if it rains) and host Coffee Hours at the Bullock Center throughout the summer. ALTAR SERVERS As the academic year begins to draw to a close, we are hoping to expand our Altar Server ranks. Any child who has begun to regularly receive the Eucharist, including our newly welcomed second graders, is eligible to participate. Parents: this is a great practical way to help your child live out his/her faith by serving others as one of Jesus disciples. Training will be held on Tuesday, June 7 th, at 6 PM in the church. For more information, please contact Fr. Vinnie or Deacon Frank in person or by calling, 781-784-2265. Practice makes perfect! A mandatory Refresher Course will be held for all current Altar Servers on Wednesday, June 8 th at 6 PM in the church. Please call Fr. Vinnie or Deacon Frank at 781-784-2265 if you can not attend. Come to the OLOS Spring Town Hall! Spring Town Hall is an opportunity for our ministries and councils to report on their activities and accomplishments over the past year and to seek ideas for the coming year. This year s Spring Town Hall will be held Sunday, June 12 th at 11:45 AM. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served. Volunteer at the OLOS Car Wash on June 12, 2016! The summer time is hot, humid, rainy, muddy and dirty. Wouldn t it be nice to pay someone else to do your dirty work for you this summer? Well, you re in luck... to benefit the Summer Mission Trips, OLOS youth and families will be having a car wash on Sunday, June 12th (rain date June 26th) from 8:00-12:30. Bring your car before or after either Sunday Mass, or have it washed during Mass. For a donation you can have your car exterior looking brand new! So, don t waste your energy washing your own car these next two weeks, and if your car is clean - get it dirty so we can clean it for you! Trip to Six Flags New England, June 28th: The OLOS trip to Six Flags New England is open to all incoming grade 7 students through young adults in college. Bus will leave from OLOS at 9:30 a.m. and return to OLOS by 9:45 p.m. The cost to attend the trip is $55.00 per person, if you sign up by June 9th. After June 9th, the cost is $70. Please register by Saturday, June 18th at the latest. Adult chaperones are needed. The registration form is available on the parish website homepage. For questions or to obtain a hard copy of the registration form, please contact Teresa Coda in the Youth Ministry Office at 781-784-2265. ECO-TIP OF THE WEEK Our faith calls us to care for all of creation and to be good stewards of our resources. As Pope Francis has written, His (St. Francis ) response to the world around him was so much more than intellectual appreciation or economic calculus, for to him each and every creature was a sister united to him by bonds of affection. That is why he felt called to care for all that exists. (# 11, Laudato Si). Each week s tip is designed to help us take one step forward in becoming better stewards of the gifts we have received. Tip of the Week: Errands Are you running around every day of the week! Try to combine all of your errands in one trip around town. You will be cutting down on your carbon footprint if you go to all the places you need to at once rather than driving back and forth whenever you think of something. This will also save gas, money, and will help you to organize your day or your week better as well. Please check www.olossharon.org for a complete calendar of events at OLOS The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ Sunday

Sharon, MA Our Lady of Sorrows Parish From Senior Deacon Mike: The liturgy for this Sunday is the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. The Gospel account of the miracle of the loaves and fishes is the prelude to the account of the last supper at which Jesus blessed wine and bread and foretold the contemporary Eucharist celebrated today. My Brother's Keeper Family Walk Please join us for the 7th Annual My Brother's Keeper Family Walk, a beautiful 3-mile route around Stonehill College and the Sheep Pasture (adjacent conservation land). All are welcome! NO registration fee. FREE t-shirts for all who register on-line by May 31, 2016. Pledges are encouraged and gratefully accepted. Date: June 18th, 2016 Registration: 9 to 9:45am Prayer Service: 10:00 am 3-Mile Walk (unpaved) : 10:20 am Lunch and Family Fun Activities: 11 am to 2 pm This is a fantastic organization and a wonderful event! To register, visit the website at www.mybrotherskeeperfamilywalk.org. Please call Mark Payson (774 501 8011) or email (mark.payson.mp@gmail.com) with any questions. Changes at COFFEE HOUR: Our Coffee Hour continues to develop into a more Sustainable Coffee Hour. Along with the reusable mugs we how have, OLOS has secured two Composting Bins, one placed by the back of the rectory and one placed in back of O Connell Hall. We have also secured a new Compost Waste Disposal Container for refuse: coffee grounds, paper napkins and plates, and food waste. At present, we are waiting for new recycling bins which will be more visible and easy to use. If you have any ideas for helping our Coffee Hour become more sustainable, please contact Lynn or Mary directly. If you have any small mugs, cups or glasses you no longer are using, we would love to use them at our Coffee Hour for fruit cups, yogurt cups and water glasses.
