January 24, 2016 I VE BEEN THINKING Words To Live By The Beatitudes for Families 1 Blessed are the families who live simply, for they will taste the joys of living in God s kingdom. 2 Blessed are the families who make time and space for each family member to mourn life s sorrows and losses, for they will receive God s comfort and consolation. 3 Blessed are the families who humbly receive life s gifts rather than grasp at power and possessions, for they will discover they have been given everything they need. 4 Blessed are the families who nurture a hunger and thirst for fairness so that others will know the justice of God s ways. 5 Blessed are families in which mercy is abundant and forgiveness is given freely so that God s mercy will be readily available to all. 6 Blessed are families who ground their lives in God and rise above the lures of temptation, for God will shine his face upon them. 7 Blessed are the families who create peace at home, in the community, and in the world, for they will be God s very own. 8 Blessed are the families who strengthen one another, encourage compassion, and desire to do good despite life s blows and setbacks, for they help bring about the Kingdom of God. (by Tom McGrath) I hope that that all of us find great wisdom in these beautifully adapted words of the Beatitudes. They certainly got me thinking! Peace & Love,

Children 2 and under free Women of Faith LOVED Farewell Tour February 26-27, 2016 First Niagara Center, Buffalo, NY Friday, 7-10 PM and Saturday, 9-5 PM www.womenoffaith.com Four reasons why you need to be there: You are surrounded by other sisters in Christ. It s a great place to bring friends who might never go to church with you. The Gospel is presented in a clear and easy way to understand. You will walk away with something you didn t know you needed until it was given to you. Hear what others are saying about this event: God will find a way to touch each person through the words of others! The music is amazing! It s an experience that is hard to explain to others, it must be experienced. I was flooded with emotion as I saw a visual picture of the body of Christ coming together for the same purpose. If you are interested, please contact Lydia Blum at MA3@womenoffaith.com or at 937-305-6659 for group discounts and seat reservations.

If you do online bill paying with your bank, add St. Theodore s Church as a payee. Use your envelope number as your account number and let them know how often to initiate a check. The bank will then send the check right to St. Theodore s and we will enter the contributions in our computer just as if you put your envelope in the collection basket. If you have any questions, please call Leigh Ann in the parish office. If you make your contributions in cash, please make sure to use your envelopes (or any envelope with your name and envelope number on it) so that we can track your contributions for you. Recently we have had some parishioners audited by the IRS and unfortunately they did not use envelopes and we were unable to give them a listing of their contributions.
