In the past, following the Christmas holy days, we normally list the names of those parishioners who helped the clergy in making sure that all services were conducted with dignity and devotion. In attempting to do the same this year, it became obvious that there were so many people to thank that we did not want to omit anyone. Therefore, on behalf of the clergy, please accept our profound gratitude to all who assisted. Truly, it was a beautiful celebration, not only for our youth and adult membership, but for all who visited us and listened to the Liturgy on the radio and internet. The beauty of our services, enhanced by the choir and the decorations in the church are truly uplifting and add to the glory of the celebration of Christ s birth. May God bless you all for your love and dedication to His Holy Church and be assured always of our love and appreciation. Thanks to our UOL Chapter members and parishioners for preparing the delicious Holy Supper - Sviata Vechera - on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, January 6 th. A very special thank you goes out to Mrs. Tamara Host, who served as chairperson and Mrs. Dareen Jogan, former chairperson, for her guidance. This year was the 31 st year that the UOL sponsored Sviat Vechir. Attention Choir Members: Our parish choirs are requested to sing at both this evening s Compline service at 6:00 p.m. and the Theophany Liturgy tomorrow, January 19 th at 9:00 a.m. Thank You!!! to our parish choirs and its director, Mr. Markian Komichak, for so beautifully representing our parish last Sunday at the 3 rd annual Caroling in the Village concert, which was held at St. Josaphat s Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral. We received many compliments on the beauty of our choir. Most notable were the comments on the number of children singing with the adults. We also thank our choir and readers for their participation in the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services. Truly, we are blessed with such dedicated parishioners. Please remember our sick and elderly parishioners in your prayers. Also, the clergy request that they be notified when parishioners are admitted to and/or discharged from the hospital and transferred to a nursing home and if a home visit is desired. By error, the following were not included in the Christmas Gift of Remembrance. Please accept our most sincere apologies. 3

Do this Christmas deed in honor of the New-Born Christ Child. This Thursday, January 22 nd, marks the sad anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, in which the Supreme Court decided that abortion would be legal in the United States. Although it is the law of the land, the Supreme Court decision does not change the centuries-old teachings of our Holy Orthodox Church and other Christian churches. We firmly believe that abortion is the killing of an innocent child. Let us pray that God will enlighten his people to understand that life begins at conception. Let us also support the organizations that work to assist women in difficult situations with unexpected pregnancy. One such Orthodox organization is ZOE for Life, which uses one of our building next to the church. Donations to this cause can be made to ZOE for Life, ZOE House, 5939 State Road, Parma, Ohio 44134. For more information, you may phone 440-888-9990. Printed with this morning s bulletin is the Schedule of House Blessing. Father Michael will be blessing all the homes. Father John will not be blessing homes this year because of his upcoming 2 nd surgery. Because of home blessing, there will be no Vespers on Saturday, January 24 th. News from our Parish Library: We wish to express our appreciation to Valentina Gluck for purchasing and donating another oil painting by Victor Zelawsky about Kyiv s Euromaidan.
