Peter T. Campon Council 206 136 Park Ave. Binghamton, NY 13903 www.kofc206.org kofc206@gmail.com April 2017 GRAND KNIGHT S MESSAGE Brother Knights and Friends, We are continuing to strive to create more member and non-member events. Bringing our community together is an important purpose of our faith and order. Please continue to look at our calendar of events and participate and support our council. We recently had our guest speaker Patrick Bubel from the Newman House come to our planning meeting and help further educate us on the Newman House and our opportunity to describe what the Knights of Columbus Council 206 can provide in their goals and challenges. This was a very beneficial meeting for both organizations. The Newman House represents the future of our faith and young adults. A common challenge I hear from many organizations is the fact that the younger generations are not as active and participate as years prior. The Newman House is the type of organization that helps solves that problem. We will do what we can to support them and I ask you to help when you can. I ask that you look at the calendar of events and email the council or call the hall and let us know if there is one event you can devote some time to assist. We appreciate your help and commitment to our council. Our 1st annual Easter Breakfast is coming Saturday April 8th from 9 - noon at the hall. Proceeds will benefit the Children's Home of Wyoming Conference. Please stop by. Our council is a council of mission and not a council of maintenance. Please help us become that mission. Thank you for allowing me to be your Grand Knight of Council 206. Let us not allow our work to stop but make sure it keeps growing. We do it together! Vivat Jesus! Tony DelNero
FATHER COREY S CHAT Brothers, We are nearing the closing days of Lent and hopefully done well in our resolutions to do penance, pray more and give alms to the poor. This is what is required of us as followers of Christ. Maybe we could have done better and if that is the case, there is still time. Find time for prayer, offer some time to care for someone needy and present. To treasure someone needy and present yourself to God in prayer as a sinner, grateful for the salvation won by Jesus Christ Make use of the various liturgical celebrations during Holy Week and know of God's love for you. May God bless us and may Mary keep us always in His love! Fr Corey LADIES AUXILIARY Ladies I just want to inform you of what is going on with the All Council Dinner as of right now it is Hillcrest that is to be having it but there is no date or time for this.
