I pray that as we take this journey together that you are taking the opportunity to ask yourself big questions about what you believe and about how your belief impacts your living. I pray that you are taking the opportunity to be in conversation within your family or friends about these issues. I truly believe that the more we talk together about our faith what we believe about God, God s relationship with humankind, and God s purposes in the world the closer we grow to God and the more faithfully we will fulfill our calling. Our Living Faith theology dialogue group will continue at Gourmet Girls (1 Easter Ct., Owings Mills) Saturday mornings from 9 10(ish) am. Come share some breakfast and talk theology, listen, and grow! All perspectives welcome. Please know that I d also be happy to talk with you about anything one-onone just e-mail or call to set up a time! Challenger Mission Moment Peace with Justice Sunday is one of the United Methodists six churchwide Special Sundays of giving. Peace with Justice includes striving to live and work with people around the world, advocating for those who are oppressed, breaking down barriers so that God children s everywhere have access to jobs, housing, education, food, clean water, and health care. 50% of your donation remains with our annual conference and 50% goes to the UM General Board of Church and society for grants to US and International programs. You gifts support weekend food supplies for children from impoverished families, redemptive work opportunities for those deemed traditionally unemployable, summer camps to teach youth alternatives to gang involvement and violence, and activities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to prepare for peaceful elections. For more information, go to http://www.umcgiving.org/ministryarticles/peace-with-justice-sunday. Youth & Young Adults Highlight This month s spotlight is on PAIGE SUMMERS Paige has attended our church since she was born. This is where she was baptized, confirmed and has been a part of numerous activities in our church. She has been an active member in the choir since she was a very young girl. This year the Youth is actually a trio of voices including Paige Summers, senior Miranda Morris, and junior, Julia Connor. Paige has a wonderful voice that blends beautifully with the other two. I appreciate her commitment to the choir and her willingness to sing a solo upon request. She possesses a big personality and passion. I thank Paige for sharing herself and her talents with our church family, stated Carrie Connors. Paige has also been active in helping with VBS and this past summer she was most proud of the role she played as VBS athletic director. Paige will be attending Regent University in the fall, majoring in psychology. Not wanting to give up on her love of art, she will minor in fine arts. Paige hopes to find a soccer club and softball team to join as she has been playing both sports as long as she can remember. She said, I m anxious and yet so excited to start my life in Virginia Beach.
