Watch your mail for more details about each of these programs! +-. From Rabbi.,Brickman I want to thank the Temple Board and you, the members of the congregation, for enabling me to travel to Israel as part of the ARZA Rabbinic Mission. As some of you have heard from me or read in "The Jersey Journal," it was a trip which I will not soon forget. In coming weeks, I would like to expand upon the first impressions which I shared with the congregation upon my return. Therefore, on upcoming Friday nights(check the "Temple Bulletin" for specific dates), I will speak in more detail about several important subjects which were themes of the mission, including the peace process and its impact on Israel, the growth and development of the Reform Movement in Israel and the battle for religious pluralism in the Jewish State. Please join me as I reflect upon these topics from my personal experience and consider the implications of what I learned in Israel not only for Israel, itself, but for our entire Jewish community.

Temple Beth-El Hosts UAHC Conference We are very proud to be hosting the Annual Small Congregations Conference, sponsored by the New Jersey-West Hudson Valley Council of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. The conference will be held on Sunday, March 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Nick~lsporn Auditorium. The Speaker will be Rabbi Allen Kaplan, Director of the UAHC Saall Congregations Department. It is the first time in many years that Temple Beth-El is hosting a UAHC event, and we look forward to welcoming the participants to Jersey City. Welcome to Temple Beth-El We are pleased to welcome a new member, Beth Cohen, to our congregational family. BINGO UPDATE Thanks to a mild winter with little snow, our Bingo games in North Bergen have been held without interruption. The weather, however, is not the most important factor in enabling us to continue with this very important fund-raising project. The key factor is the dedication of our Temple volunteers who give so generously of their time and energy each and every week. We are grateful to our Winter Bingo Co-Chairpeople, Marjorie Lubowsky who coordinates the Wednesday volunteers, and Maurice Weinberg, who coordinates the Sunday volunteers. Special thanks to Fanny Tilton who filled in for Marge when she went out-of-town and kept our games going on Wednesdays. Even though the groundhog didn't see his shadow, Spring does not arrive at Temple Beth-El for at least 6 more weeks when the snowbirds return to Jersey City. Until then, we still need your help every Wednesday and on the last Sunday of each month. If you want to join our Bingo crew, speak to either of our Winter chairpeople or call the Temple office. We're sure you'll enjoy the experience so much and feel so good about helping the Temple, you'll become a regular.
