Our Worship of God July 9, 2017 9:15 am ( Indicates those who are able, please stand) Greeting Carol McEntyre Call to Worship (unison) from Philippians 2:5-11 We come together to celebrate Jesus Christ, who though He was in the form of God, did not consider being equal with God something to exploit. Instead, he emptied Himself completely, not only taking on human form, but the form of a slave. He humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, even a humiliating death by torture on a cross of wood. So God raised Him up with great honor, and gave Him a name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus everyone in heaven and on earth and even under the earth
might bow down, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Opening Song All the People Said Amen Passing the Peace Songs of Devotion Faithful Be Glorified Offertory Prayer Offertory Loyal Scripture Reading Philippians 2:1-13 If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence, but much more now in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure. The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Message Carol McEntyre Song of Response Beautiful Things Benediction May God, who began the good work within you, continue to be at work in your life, bringing everything to completion on the day when Christ Jesus comes back again. May your love for others overflow more and more, and may you keep growing in your knowledge and understanding. Never forget what really matters, so that you may live a pure and blameless life until Christ returns. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation those good things that are produced by your life by Jesus Christ for living this way will bring much glory and praise to God.
