Many thanks to all the parents who volunteered to help in the canteen and with the general supervision of our students. We will be having our Year 6 farewell and disco this coming Friday evening. This will be one of the last times that the Year 6 students will gather together as a full group before they start to move in different directions in their high school years. I wish them all the best for their high school years and their long term future. Keep on learning, and continue to do so for the rest of your life. This will be the last Newsletter for the year and I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents, families, staff and students for a wonderful year. Again, I would like to wish all our Year 6 students "good bye and good luck" for both your high school years and your future lives. I hope all have a wonderful Christmas filled with fun, laughter and good family times. This week s assembly will be led by students from 4T. All families are welcome to attend. Students are Secret Santa for our Troops This year, students from Broulee Public School decided to be a Secret Santa for our troops serving overseas. They thought that the act of giving to those who are without is a good way to celebrate Christmas. Troops serving overseas are away from their family at Christmas and are worthy of receiving our thanks and gratitude. The students donated enough items of biscuits, nuts, books, magazines, toiletries and Christmas cards containing words of thanks to fill 27 care packages. The packages were packed and posted this week and by Christmas time troops in Solomon Islands, East Timor and Middle East will be opening their treats. Students would like to wish all families of troops serving overseas a very Merry Christmas. icentre News Book Fair A huge 'thank you' to all who supported our recent Scholastic Book Fair. We raised just over $800 which will be used to buy resources for the icentre. Our lucky draw will be drawn at this Thursday's assembly with 10 great prizes to be won. Library Books Please return all library books to the icentre as soon as possible. Thank you Isabelle Cameron
Broulee s Got Talent Congratulations Dylan, James, Jesse, Oliver and Julian the inaugural recipients of the Sky and Kayla Encouragement Award. The twelve acts that performed at this year s Broulee s Got Talent finals were soooo entertaining. Mr Cullen from Moruya High School, along with Mrs Hounsell and Mrs Dunn were given the most difficult task of being our judges. After a lengthy deliberation, Year 5 boy s rendition of the Three Little Pigs was announced the winner. A special thank you to Chloe, Heidi, Mallee, Briony, Lucy, Jakirra and Leah who planned, organised and presented this year s Broulee s Got Talent. A job well done girls! All 23 students who participated in the finals were presented with a Certificate and a $5 lunch order from Bengello Bites. The only thing left to say is: SEE YOU ON STAGE IN 2013. P & C News The P & C are running the BBQs for the Art on the Path this summer. The first one was last Sunday 9 December where lots of yummy, healthy food was available, (see picture). The next will be Sunday 6 January 2013. So come on down and support our fundraising and meet the local artists as well. You could have breakfast, morning tea or lunch. There will be pancakes and eggs available, plus fruit kebabs. Also veggie kebabs and sausage sandwiches and more! Helpers also welcome! Big thanks to Tina for her hard work and her creative and healthy kebabs.
