All of us working together we will continue to take this Chapter forward with new ideas and new Programs to help support our Priests, Parishes and those who need our help. Message from your 1 st Vice-President & President Elect-Tim Shields Bishop s Dinner Brother Knights - I wish to thank all of you for making this year's Bishop's dinner a huge success. My special thanks goes to committee members Tom Pearson, Gerald Andrews, Don Granata, and Bill Hilderhoff, who, without their input, this major undertaking would not have been possible. I am truly blessed to have them as trusted advisors. Also, I wish to extend thanks to my dear friend and State Advocate Elect Larry Barkowski for his role as MC, to Michael Morris and Jeff Petrinelli who took care of registration; and Tom Myers and Patsy Zello who were very busy making sure everyone had a generous share of liquid refreshment at the social hour. Thanks also to Bill Ager, and Eric and Melissa Mouia who took care of the 50/50. I would be remiss in not extending a very special thanks to the wives of all of our brother knights on the committee. Last, but certainly not least, our thanks to Jerry Bertig, Jennifer Venneman and the entire staff of Bishop Connare Center, our hosts for the evening. May God Bless all of you!! See Pictures Attached: Chapter Secretary Brother Knights The Chapter is in need of a Chapter Secretary. Please ask members of your Councils if anyone is willing to step up and take on this position. Message from your IFCP/Secretary-Don Granata Fathers Defending the Domestic Church Recently, a friend commented to me that at work he practices the virtues and principals of a good Christian man as an example to his fellow worker s. He maintains a decorum that is professional and friendly. Once he gets in his car his thoughts are of just releasing all the tension built up during the day and once he enters his home that virtuous man becomes a short tempered impatient Father and Husband. The short verse Ephesians 3:15 which is the very essence in Christ reliving on earth the Fatherhood of God, calls out to us that our duty as Fathers is to keep harmony within the family. Question is? How to accomplish that with Fatherhood under attack. In St John Paul s book, Crossing the Threshold of Hope, he tells us that the underlying plan of the enemy is to remove our reliance on God the Father and thus abolish Fatherhood. All men are called to Fatherhood in some way. Pope Francis tells us that Fatherhood whether called to marriage or a spiritual marriage that it is for a man to live out his fullness of life whatever the vocation. Also, Grand Fathers are called to fight and defend their families. Bishop Olmsted of Phoenix author of Into the Breach, tells us about St Joachum Grandfather, to Jesus, who lived his life faithful to God and was blessed with a great Gift, Mary our Blessed Mother. As Grandfathers St Joachum should be our role model of true faithfulness to the Lord. Bishop Olmsted calls us to bring our troubles as fathers to the Lord. None of us are prefect, but through the Sacrament of Reconciliation and prayer we can be the Father we are called to be. In my prayers I ask our Blessed Mother to fill me with the Holy Spirit to allow her Son to fill my heart with his love and that I share that love with all. These were my recommendations to my friend. As a Father instead of lounging in a comfortable chair with a beer watching your favorite TV show call the family together to pray the Rosary. Be that Family Fully Alive, through your humble and faithful leadership. God Bless to you and your family. Happy Father s Day, Don Granata State Faith Director I highly recommend reading the book Into the Breach available through the K of C.
