On Devine Mercy Sunday we were blessed with great weather for our membership drive at St. Cecilia s. Thank you to the members who came out to support the project and Fr. Bonner for his support. Clint Snyder and Dave Montvydas spoke from the Alter before the Masses about our Council. The following Wednesday evening at our follow up meeting were had three candidates submit FORM 100 s. On May 7 th we ll have a first degree at 7 PM followed by our Business meeting. Please come and witness their First Degree and welcome them to the Knight of Columbus and Fr. Ryan. Mr. Adam Rosinski joined us at the last Business Meeting. Adam was presented with a $500 RSVP Award. Adam is currently at St. Joes Prep continuing with his Formation in the Jesuit Order. Adam was very appreciative of our support and will be keeping the men of Fr. Ryan in his prayers. Following the meeting we had the opportunity to socialize with Adam and he told us more about the formation process to become a Jesuit Priest. We ll continue to keep Adam and all seminarians in our prayers. The plan to discontinue mailing the Banner is still on schedule. The last edition will be mailed in June unless you contact Herb Marizy or me to request to continue to have the Banner mailed to you. To date I have not received any request. You may get a phone call from Herb to get your email address or to confirm that you still want the Banner mailed. Adam Ungaro is leading the nomination committee for new officers. If you are 3 rd Degree in good standing and would like to become an officer of the Council, please see Adam at the next meeting. Elections will be in June. I received an email from Tom O Brien, DD17 who is coordinating the transportation for the Supreme Convention this August in Philadelphia. Tom needs your help to be a Driver or Escort for the Bishops, Archbishops, and Cardinals that will be attending the Convention. The job descriptions are in the Banner along with information on when volunteers are needed and volunteer form. Please consider this opportunity to make a First Great Impression of the Philadelphia Area Knights on our guest. Please contact Tom to volunteer or if you have any questions.

Fraternally, Mark Dillon Grand Knight Dear Brother Knights, As mentioned by our Grand Knight in his monthly message, a vote was recently taken to discontinue the monthly mailing of the Banner. As a result, the last issue of the Banner to be mailed out will be the June 2015 issue. In an effort to save some money for the Council and make information available more quickly, we are encouraging everyone to make use of our Council Website. You can find it at www.fatherryan5036kofc.org If this proves to be a hardship for you, please contact the Grand Knight or Herb Marizy and we will make arrangements to continue to mail the Banner to you. Beginning with the July issue, the Banner will be e-mailed to everyone for whom we have a valid e-mail address. It will also be available on our website. Please contact Herb Marizy at Herb@HerbMarizy.com to provide your e-mail address. Thank you

Supreme Convention: Drivers and Escorts Needed As you know Pennsylvania is hosting the Supreme Convention in Philadelphia this August. I have the responsibility of transporting the Hierarchy from the Airports and Train Stations to the Marriott Hotel in Center City. We are expecting over 150 Bishops, Archbishops and Cardinals to attend the Convention. I am in need of 70 volunteers to assist with this project and to date the volunteers are far short of what we need. Our need is for Escorts and Drivers. The Escorts are to be at the Marriott Hotel and on call for trips to the airport or train station. The escort will have a sign with the Bishop s name as well as a picture of the Bishop and a brief Biography of his assignments and current status. The Escort will be dropped off at the appropriate Terminal by the Driver. (The Driver will then go to the cell phone lot and await a call from the Escort that the Bishop has his bags and is ready to go.) The Escort will ride with the Bishop to the Hotel, take the Bishop to the Hierarchy Registration Desk, pick up his key and a small package and take the Bishop to his room. Finally the Escort will ensure that the room is in order and that all items requested by the K of C are in his room. The Escort will then return to the lobby of the Hotel and await instructions from the Transportation coordinators. It is hoped that the Drivers will have a mid-size or larger sedan 2009 or later and clean. The Drivers are to be at the Marriott and on call for trips to the airport or station. The driver will be instructed as to whom he is taking as an Escort and take the Escort to the appropriate Terminal or train station. The Driver will drop the Escort off and drive to the cell phone lot at the airport and await a call from the Escort that the Bishop has his bags. Once he receives that call the Driver will pull up at the Terminal and open the trunk so the Escort can place the bags in the trunk. Prior to leaving the airport, the driver should call the coordinator at the hotel to let him know that the Bishop is on his way to the hotel. Once all are in the car the driver will return to the Hotel and after allowing the Escort to get the bags from the trunk will proceed to a staging area by the hotel while awaiting his next assignment. Drivers will be reimbursed for all parking fees and mileage related to the airport trips. PLEASE HAVE VOLUNTEERS CONTACT ME BY EMAIL (Preference) or phone with the dates and times they can volunteer.
