Tis month we have Judy Nicewicz teaching us poinsettias on fabric-right on time to create some beautiful wearable art for the season. Tank you to all who voted for next year s projects! Motion was made by Dianne Case and Seconded by Elaine Steinbronn to accept minutes of September meeting as posted in newsletter. Motion was accepted. October workshop was taught by Cathy Ferrer, Holiday scenes painted on a wooden post. They all turned out really nice. Jolene Rhodes spoke about the Lydia Steeves Seminar which will be March 29-31 at the Boardwalk Bowl. NOVEMBER WORKSHOP Poinsettia shirt designed and taught by Judy Nicewicz This design is painted on a white dress shirt thin enough to see the pattern through. Once your pattern is the size desired, make the pattern lines heavier with a black marker and the pattern will be visible when placed under the shirt. If you are using another surface that you can't see through, the pattern will have to be transferred before painting. Pattern: The pattern for this design is in a separate email and is two pages. If you want the size Judy is using, print out the PDF and enlarge 122%. Splice the pattern together beforehand and the pattern should fit on a legal size sheet of paper at the copy center. For other surfaces, reduce or enlarge the pattern as desired. Paint will be provided Supplies to bring: Surface: White Shirt, Apron, Tote Bag or your choice ( 40/60 Blend) Coton Brushes: Assorted sizes ¾ Flat, ½ Flat (2) Liner, Feather or rake optonal Supplies: Ident Pen, Water Basin, Paper Towels, Shirt Board or large cardboard to put between the fabric, clips, clothespins etc to hold the fabric tght. Hair dryer is helpful. The patern is in a separate email atachment with the newsleter. Please print out and resize to your surface if needed! UPCOMING ELECTION OF OFFICERS Here is a description of the positions as stated in our bylaws: 3. Dutes of ofcers: All elected ofcers are expected to atend Chapters meetngs, Board meetngs and other Chapter functons. a.president shall preside at all Chapter meetings and Board of Directors meetings, shall be a member ex4officio of all committees, with the exception of the Nominating Committee, shall sign checks in the absence of the Treasurer, and shall perform such other duties as usually pertain to the office. The President shall be responsible to see that all required reports and correspondence are sent to the National Office. The President shall familiarize herself with Parliamentary Procedure and have a copy of Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised, current edition at all meetings for reference. b.first Vice President Shall preside in the absence of the President; shall assist the President; shall serve as Coordinator of Programs and Seminars, and shall keep a clear and complete record of correspondence and contracts with seminar

teachers. These records shall be the property of the Chapter and passed on to the next First Vice President when installed as an officer. c.second Vice President shall serve as membership Chairman; shall keep an updated record of all members, shall be responsible for giving new members a hard copy of the Chapter Handbook which contains the Standing Rules and By4Laws, shall provide a guest book for visitors to sign and introduce new and prospective members as well as guests. d.recording Secretary Shall record minutes of all meetings of the Chapter and Board of Directors; shall send copies of all minutes to the National office and to each of the members serving on the Board of Directors. These minutes shall be kept in books, which are the property of the Chapter and shall be a complete and clear record of all activities and shall be available to all members upon request. e.corresponding Secretary Shall handle general correspondence on behalf of the Chapter; shall keep a copy of each such correspondence in a book which is the property of the Chapter and which shall be available to any member upon request; and shall send notices of special meetings to all members. f.treasurer Shall receive all monies of the Chapter, shall make all disbursements by Chapter s bank check; shall keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, shall pay all Chapter bills in accordance with the budget, shall pay expenses not covered by the budget only upon approval by a vote of the Chapter, shall be responsible for obtaining detailed, written reports from all committees regarding all expenditures, shall present financial reports at Board and General Chapter meetings, shall present a report at the end of the calendar year for audit and for submission to National; shall distribute copies of the end of the year report to the membership at the January meeting. Copy of the end of the year report shall be attached to the minutes of the January general meeting of the Chapter.
