Donations Ann Botz has made a yartzeit donation in memory of her son, Tad Michael Stoler. Thank you to Mindy Miller, Administrative Assistant and Religious School Principal of Temple Anshe Shalom in Chicago who donated fifty Mishkan T fiah prayer books to our congregation. Built in 1945, Temple Anshe Shalom was the first Reform Temple in the Chicago South Suburban area and former synagogue of Phil and Sandi Grinker. Thank You s To Brenda Poller for sponsoring the oneg on March 22nd. To Judy Richter and Lorraine Mixter for making hamentashen for the Purim Service. To Rob and Pat Lerner for getting the bimah lights working again, as well as their tireless work keeping the building running. To Bev Lerner for planning and coordinating the visit to the Polk Museum of Art and lunch afterwards. To Janis Koike for maintaining our contact list, yartzeit list, yartzeit reminders, following up on phone calls from the ill, homebound, inquiries from new residents, and many other thankless activities over the years. To our nominating committee for planning our annual meeting and developing the slate of officers for the 2019-2020 year. Many thanks to outgoing officers and trustees Renee Cohen, Korina Masters, Dick Ross, Howard Korn, and Margo Fleisher for your talent and dedication in this last period! Yartzeit List Update Beth Shalom Family, Since January, we have sent out a monthly yahrzeit listing to all families observing yahrzeits in the secular calendar month. We have also continued to print the list in our monthly bulletin Chai Lites. As a congregation we are observing secular dates only. For those who observed Hebrew dates, we had been checking the calendar yearly and making the appropriate adjustment. Rabbi Herzfeld has noted that most Reform Congregations observe secular dates, and we are now following suit. If your family has been observing the Hebrew dates, please let us know the secular date you want to observe. In an earlier notice, we asked if another member would like to assume responsibility for managing the yarzeit list for monthly notices and for the Yom Kippur Yiskor service. Let us know if you are interested.
