St. Patrick Parish In the Roman Catholic tradition, the people of Saint Patrick Parish are called to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ by our words and actions through the celebration of the Sacraments, acts of justice and charity and life-long faith formation; the fruits of which are a welcoming faith-filled community bringing ourselves and others, through God s grace, to salvation. Merry Christmas The St. Patrick and St. Margaret Mary Faith Formation Commission would like to give you the gift of Scott Hahn s The Lamb s Supper. Hahn s book explores the beauty of the Mass and helps Catholics reflect on the celebration of the Eucharist. The books are in the last pews of the church as well as in the last pew of the Mary and Joseph Chapels. Please take one per family. Merry Christmas from the Faith Formation Commission! Offices Closed The St. Patrick and St. Margaret Mary parish offices will be closed December 26-30 so that our staff may enjoy time at home with family during the holidays. Have a wonderful Christmas! Right to Life Carols and Midnight Mass The St. Patrick Adult Choir will provide special prelude music preceding Midnight Mass. The music begins at 11:30 pm and will feature Fr. Dan singing a solo and playing his mandolin!! In the past, Wabash Valley Right to Life has placed a full page ad in the newspaper during the month of January on the anniversary of Roe V. Wade. This year, there will be instead at least four different Pro-Life billboards around town. The Wabash Valley Right to Life is asking for donations to help support the cost of the billboards. During the weekends of January 7/8, and January 14/15 there will be donations collected following Mass. Please show your support for the unborn! Reflections from Deacon Mike Stratman The Coming of Jesus We don't have to gaze long at the clear night sky to marvel at the wonder of God's handiwork. The massive stretch of galaxies and the mass of our own Milky Way remind us of the spectacular creation and the continued work of Jesus by whom it is all held together. It's a though we have a front row seat in the theater of God's creative power. But the nightly show we experience is nothing compared with the glory that God displayed when He sent His Son to earth. While the shepherds were watching their flocks, the sky suddenly opened up with the heavenly angels praising God and saying, "Do not be afraid, For today a savior has been born for you who is the Messiah and Lord. Glory to God in the highest!" Later, 3 Magi's from a foreign land came and worshiped the King, when the brightest of stars in the east lead them to Bethlehem. While the heavens declared the glory of God when our Savior was born, never before or since has the universe been more alive with His glory than it was with the announcement that the Creator of the universe who loved us enough to send His Son to save us from our sin. Keep that thought in mind as we celebrate Christmas with our family and friends. May our universe be alive and well as we celebrate the coming of Jesus!! Merry Christmas from my family to yours, Deacon Mike Join the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, for The Power of Forgiveness workshop, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Providence Spirituality & Conference Center.
