Joseph B. Cavallaro Council #4884 Knights of Columbus JUNE 2018 S.K. Ed McGibbon Grand Knight Carl Bartolotti, P.G.K., Editor Newsletter@CavallaroCouncil.com Web-Master - Mike A. Nuccio www.cavallarocouncil.com GRAND KNIGHT S MESSAGE Brother Knights June is a very important month of year for the council and that is selecting and electing officers for 2018/2019. The council still has a few more activities to complete before July 2018 in planning the new Columbian year. June 3 rd will be a combined Grand Knight Appreciation and Award Brunch after the 10 AM Mass at Saint Athanasius followed by a reception at the council. Plans will soon be underway for the Heart Share Children s Picnic in July. The council always looks to brothers to offer and supporting this event. Please look for a blast email with information relating to the Picnic. I have been trying to find better ways to serve our council. I am sure many of you have been following my monthly messages. We do have a website, but does not speak or answer any questions. We need better resources and your help would be most appreciative to participate in membership drives. All K.C. councils are trying to attract new members to keep the oath of our mission statement to continue to grow. The council has many mentors than can guide us all with many challenges and rewards. In the remaining year of 2018 next month preparing the 2019 you will see more events and activities among the council. Continued on Page 5

Council News MOTIONS / RESOLUTIONS Motion by: 4 8 8 4 FS News: My Brother Knights Our fraternal year is coming to an end. Thanks to the efforts of our retention chairman, John Arcate, only 2 members were suspended. The list originally held 16 members. Keep in mind that our order needs good Catholic men in our ranks. If we bring in 7 members, we are eligible for Star Council. Ask a friend or a relative to join. Meetings and functions are more enjoyable when shared with people you've known for a while and have common interests. Christopher Simeone INSURANCE INFORMATION: Insurance in the order is voluntary. Insurance in general is necessary to protect our loved ones in the event of our death, and death is mandatory. If you need to a policy, why not take it with the Knights of Columbus? Our order is almost 2 million members around the world in over 16,000 councils in over a dozen countries. Our order is one of the loudest advocates of religious freedom in the courts and on the streets. Your annual dues cannot support these efforts, but our insurance members do when they purchase a policy. Even a small policy helps our causes around the world. There are a host of policy options available to all members and their families. As it is said in Thessalonians 5:2 "The Lord will come like a thief in the night." If we know the day and time the thief will strike, will we not prepare for him? We should prepare for the time our Lord will call us to come home and make sure those

who we leave behind are cared for. Call our agent today and make an appointment. An hour out of your busy schedule can save years of suffering for our loved ones.
