They carried meat/fish with them. Many of the sailors fell ill due to eating the stale food and had to be given medicines. During the voyage they also faced violent storms and almost lost their way. 1 Read the passage and answer the questions. 6 Sangam literature is an important source. We get to know that Tamilakam was divided into 5 types of land and there were 3 major kingdoms. The 3 kingdoms were ruled by the Cheras, the Cholas and the Pandyas. There were different kinds of streets for different areas, like houses and markets. In the markets goldsmiths and cloth merchants made and sold their goods, and grain merchants also traded their goods. However, we do not know when exactly events happened during this age. A.
