2019 Board of Directors 4 open positions 6 Board Nominees Bobby Joe Hall Karen Bitler Frank Manning Gary Nicholson Brad Vance Michael Richards

Bobby Joe Hall I am retired and an avid golfer. I enjoy watching high school and college football. I attended GFWTE #28 where I sat at the Table of Luke. I ve worked at all but one walk, since my walk in March of 2016. I m a member of Cleveland United Methodist Church and currently serving on SPPRC Committee. I will be Finance Committee chair starting January 2019, for a two year period.

I am presently serving as the Family Promise coordinator at our church. I serve on occasions, as usher and also read Psalter. Also, I sing in church choir and in the bell choir. I have filled in, for Pastor Ted Keen, on two occasions at the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services each time. I have attended annual conference the last 2 years as Alternate Lay Delegate. I regularly attend two reunion groups of Emmaus. Presently, I m taking Lay Servant Classes and have completed Basic, and 5 of the 6 required classes, to become a certified Lay Servant Speaker.

Karen Bitler Karen attends Bethlehem UMC in Buford. She sings in the choir and volunteers. She is the Lay Leader and attends the annual conference. Karen has completed Basic and 3 of the Lay Servant courses. Karen attended Georgia Foothills Walk to Emmaus #24. She has served as a room servant, in the chapel, and the conference room.

Karen is married and has a 20 year old son. She has been in banking for over 35 years and is currently employed at The Piedmont Bank, Norcross, GA. She loves to read and go on motorcycle road trips with her husband. Karen decorates and embellishes gift baskets and serves the residents of Autumn Leaves Memory Loss Center on a quarterly basis.

Gary Nicholson I was raised by Christian Parents and accepted Christ as my savior when I was very young. Following Christ and attending Church as always been my life. My Emmaus walk was in the mid 90s with Pathway East Men s walk number 3. It was a turning point in my walk of faith. Vicki and I were married in 1971 and have two sons. Vicki is a retired master teacher. We have 9 grand-kids and one great grandchild. I retired from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in 2010 after 37 years in Law Enforcement.

In-between spoiling our grandkids, Vicki and I are photographers who seek to capture images of God s glorious creations. We also do portrait photography for friends and persons who cannot afford to pay for portraits. We never charge for our photography work. My goal now is to provide anything I can to give this same Emmaus experience to others. I attend Arbor Pointe UMC where I serve as the Chairman of the Church Council. I have also served as the Chairman of the Trustees and Chairman of Outreach as well as a member of the Staff / Parrish relationship committee.

Brad Vance My name is Brad Vance and I attended GFWTE #24 where I sat at the table of Luke. I am a life long resident of Georgia. I have been married to Sandy for 12 years. I have attended Gainesville First UMC since 2003. My wife and I serve as greeters for our Chapel service.

My leisure time is spent relaxing on my deck watching birds and deer, cruising on Carnival cruise lines, chilling on the beach and walking the AT trail. I have previously served on the board as the Treasurer.

Michael Richards Michael Richards attended the Georgia Foothills Walk to Emmaus #28 where he sat at the table to Matthew. He has been blessed to have a loving and forgiving King and savior to lead him and give him opportunities to serve since he was 11 years old. He is also blessed with a loving wife of 29 and half years and triplet boys who are about to turn 22 years old.

Michael has been in working in public Education for over 28 years. 17 years were in the classroom and 11 years were for the state or a district. The Lord has also allowed him to work with many young men on the athletic field while coaching football, soccer and other sports for over 27 years. As many of us do each and every day, Michael has struggled to overcome his humanity to obey and serve the Lord whenever he asks. He is working and praying that he will surrender all and leave his Yes to all the Lord asks!

Frank Manning My name is Frank Manning and I attended GFWTE #27 and have worked four walks since. I live in Cleveland, GA with my family. We attend Loudsville UMC where I am a Lay Leader and an active member. Frank s wife Lisa has served on a few walks, too. Here s their family including their two daughters: Ashley 26, Anna 22

I have worked 25 1/2 years for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in Law Enforcement Officer for 25 years as a Wildlife Technician. I ve been a Wildlife Technician Supervisor for the last 3 years. My hobbies include hunting, fishing, woodworking, Antler crafts, and flint knapping.
