Secretary s Page Highlights from the March 2 nd General Meeting President Al Johnston presented a birthday silver dollar for March to Doug Hensel. Mystery person Senator Charlie Thomson didn t collect any fines, because everyone shook his hand. The Pot of Gold for $10.00, plus the carryover from last month for $10.00 was not claimed, because Past President Janet Huber was not at the last meeting. The $20.00 will be carried over to the April meeting. The ACT Draw for $117.00 was not won, because Priscilla Savas was not in attendance. The $10.00 prize was won by Past President Janet Huber. The pot will be at $224.00 for the start of the April meeting. The 50/50 draw for $13.00 was won by Vice President Wayne Huber and the Attendance draw for a free breakfast at the April meeting was won by Ron Wychopen. Sheriff Ken Smith collected $1.00 in fines. Senator Gary Mork conducted the elections for 2019 2020, and the only members up for election this year are four (4) Directors. After three calls from the floor, the four Directors elected are Past President Richard Pylychuk, Pat Ross, Senator Charlie Thomson and Senator John Currie. The Officers and the other four Directors will be elected in 2020. The complete list of the Directorate is printed in this News Letter. The Ham & Turkey Fun Night is set for May 11 th at the Moose hall starting at 5:30 p.m. and at the present time, we have 31 tables booked. (Still room for nine (9) more) If interested, book your table with the Secretary and purchase your tickets from Past President Janet Huber or Vice President Cathy Nevala. Don t miss out on a good time. The Charity 50/50 draw is going well with sales at the Hospital, with $6,284.00 sold to-date. Past President Garry Henry can always use help at the Hospital, so give him a call and volunteer a few hours. The Fire Fighters 10 Mile Race will be on Monday, May 20 th and Past President Bill Dann will be looking for help to cover all intersections for about four hours. On the door for the April meeting will be Past President Janet Huber and Past President Garry Henry. If you haven t been out for a while, come out and try the Scand. Restaurant meal that is served to your table. The cost is only $15.00 and it also covers all of your draws. The Duluth Dinner will be held on April 15 th to 17 th, (Monday to Wednesday) and Past President Cathy Nevala has arranged for rooms at the Chanel Park Lodge since the Day s Inn is under renovations. If interested, book your room and advise the Secretary. The dinner will be held at the Chalet Restaurant for a cost of $25.00. Time to start thinking about the C L E Parking, which will be on August 7 th to 11 th, and Past President Bill Dann will be looking for help for the five days. This is a large money maker for our Club and all members will be needed. If your children or grandchildren are available, we can always use extra help. June 21 st will be the Bob Harris Memorial Golf Tournament at Emerald Greens, with a shot gun start at 10:00 a.m. The cost will be $75.00 for golf, shared cart and dinner and non-golfer dinners will be $15.00. If you are carrying your Roster, my cell is on the front cover. 50/50 Charity Draw Thanks to all of you who volunteered for March. We will be selling tickets at the Hospital from April 8th to 12th. There will be a cash bar. If you are planning to attend, please book your room at the Canal Park and advise me of your booking for the head count. Gord Ross - 627-5198 Dues Payable in 2019 At the present time, I am still working with Calgary and Columbus, as to how this will all work out. If your membership into the Club in the past was with an insurance policy, you are entitled to a free membership in 2019, and should come due about October or November 2019 and you will pay at this time. (If you wish to know your due date, please contact me for this information) If your membership was already a Fraternal membership, the free one does not apply. You will receive your $45.34 billing. If you received the letter for the buyout for the ADHIP policy, you will not receive your cheque, until you sign the paper work and mail it back to Calgary. Any other concerns, give me a call. Gord Ross PRP Ham & Turkey Fun Night May 11th, 2019 Advance notice, that it will be on Saturday May 11th at the Moose Hall, starting at 5:30 p.m. All tables have to be booked with the Secretary (627-5198) and we will only have 40 round tables of 8 available. First come, first served. Tickets can be purchased from Vice President Cathy Nevala and Past President Janet Huber and they will be available at the April 6th meeting for a cost of $15.00 each. So we can order all of our supplies, the cut off for ticket sales will be April 22nd. Don t leave your bookings to the last minute, you might be disappointed. The committee needs to keep our numbers at a manageable number.
