Knights of Columbus Assembly Advisor Holy Spirit Assembly 3588 December, 2018 Volume 4 Number 12 www.kofcassembly3588.org Assembly Mission To support the mission of the Knights of Columbus, acknowledge a belief in God, to promote charitable works, and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, active duty military, and their families, both at home and abroad. For God and Country, we advocate for veterans, educate our communities, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, faith and God s grace. Assembly Vision - To support the vision of the Knights of Columbus while becoming one of the recognized leaders in our community for providing support for our veterans, our military, and their families by shaping a positive future in an atmosphere of fellowship, patriotism, peace and security. JANUARY 23, 2019 The January Meeting will be at Incarnate Word Parish 13416 Olive Blvd. Chesterfield, MO 63017. The meeting will start promptly at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. FROM THE FAITHFUL NAVIGATOR: Brother Sir Knights and Ladies, Holy Spirit (West StL County) 4 th Degree Assembly Joe Burleski Greetings fellow Sir Knights! Thank You to everyone who helped make our Assembly s Christmas Social celebration on Friday, December 14, at Ascension very special! Congratulations to our Holy Spirit Assembly for being awarded Star Assembly, the only Assembly in Missouri to be so recognized. The Assembly also received a special Civic Award for outstanding implementation of patriotic programming faithful to the principles of the 4th Degree of the KofC. The surprise announcement and presentation were made at our Assembly s Christmas Social. It was great to have KofC Missouri District Master John Appelbaum and his wife Carol travel to the event to make the presentation. John served as the State Deputy/Leader for the Missouri State KofC 2010-12 at the same time I served as the Grand Knight for Ascension Council KofC. Congratulations also to fellow Assembly member Jerry Lamoreux, District Deputy #54, who received Star District honors during the December 7-9 State KofC meeting in Branson, MO. Jerry was 1 of only 3 DDs in Missouri to be so honored. Awards and recognition are nice but the real satisfaction & joy is all the unselfish support and caring assistance we all provide to our youth, to those less fortunate, and to all of our active military and veterans. Our next monthly Assembly meeting will be held Wednesday, January 23, at Incarnate Word (school cafeteria). The meeting will begin at 7pm with refreshments being served both before and after the meeting. Please continue to actively spread the word and recruit for new 4th Degree members. There is less than 2 months (February 16) in order to submit all required paperwork for new candidates to participate in the March 2 Fourth Degree Exemplification in St Louis. Just beginning our 4 th year, it is a personal honor to lead this Assembly, with its 360+ members, plus its Ladies Auxiliary, covering 11 Parishes throughout West St Louis County. Wishing everyone, including you and yours, a very wonderful &

safe Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, & a Happy New Year!
