A new beginning There s an invitation for a celebration in heaven! Genesis 45:1-47:12 There were many themes in the story of Joseph. Link the themes below to the part of the story they relate to. Day 5 Joseph was his dad s favourite and his brothers hated him for it. Being the best Celebration Choices Favouritism Forgiveness Guilt Helplessness Making a difference Unnoticed Joseph was sold to the Ishmaelites and taken to Egypt where he was sold to Potiphar. Potiphar s wife had him thrown in jail for something he didn t do. Joseph could have given up in jail, but instead he became a responsible, trusted prisoner. Joseph had a big chance to get out of jail and people let him down again. Joseph was only one person, but with the help of God, he made a huge difference to a whole country. Joseph s brothers had to face up to all the wrong things they d done to Joseph and their dad. Joseph had the perfect opportunity and motive for revenge but he chose to forgive. Joseph treated his brothers kindly and arranged for them to live in the best part of Egypt. Jacob s family were happily reunited and celebrated. Unscramble the words in brackets discover today s verse of the day. For [ofr] God so loved [eldov] the world [rdlwo] that he gave_ [vage] his one and [dan] only Son, that whoever [ewovher] believes_ [lveisebe] in him shall not perish [peshir] but have eternal_ [tenrlae] life. John 3:16 (NIV) Jesus was punished for our sin instead of us, so that we could be forgiven and have eternal life. We have much to celebrate here on earth and even more to celebrate when we see Jesus face to face!
