The Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Saturday and Sunday February 16-17, 2019 www.stjudecatholic.org Dear Friends: We are about 2 weeks from Ash Wednesday. As we all know, Lent will be a time during which we are encouraged to refresh our prayer life and our way of living in general. Deacon James and I have been working on our upcoming Stewardship of Prayer campaign, and that will coincide with the season of Lent. Our Liturgy Committee and I are also working on Lenten Family Packets for you to take home and use in preparation for this holy time. It is important for me to share a particular detail with you regarding these packets. In the printed materials that will be contained in the packets, you will see the term HOUSEHOLD used throughout. This is, because, in a Catholic church parish, when it comes to our registration, we refer to the number of registered households. A household is defined as one of the following: a family unit, a couple, or someone who is single or living alone. The packets are designed for everyone, and we want everyone to feel part of this Lenten activity. These packets will be made available to you during Masses on the weekend of February 23-24. You are asked to participate by reviewing the enclosed materials and returning your family/ household Lenten cross on either Ash Wednesday or the First Sunday of Lent. We ll be saying more about this project between now and then. In the meantime, let s all make it our commitment to not wait until the last minute to prepare for Lent. Have a great week! Sincerely, Fr. Trey Nelson Pastor St. Jude Family and Household Lenten Packets will be made available at all Masses on the weekend of February 23-24. Make plans to pick up yours. If you are not able to be at Mass here that weekend, packets will be available in the Parish Office the week following.
