April 8, 2012 3 Easter Sunday He is Risen! Truly risen as He said! The early Christians were very insistent that Jesus in fact had foretold His Resurrection. They could not mention the fact of Jesus Resurrection without adding that He Himself had predicted it. They wanted to make certain that people understood that God was in charge; that God knew the Good Friday fate of Jesus (His passion and cruel death) and had from the beginning a counter-plan: Easter Sunday and Jesus Resurrection to glory. Let s celebrate Easter. Let s not downplay it in any way. When our culture is making more of Halloween (commercially) than Easter, we know we re in trouble! Enjoy the day. Make sure the children and grandchildren know why we are celebrating. You don t have to spend a lot of money to be a believer and celebrate Easter well. But let s take the time, do the planning, make the calls and altogether have a great day! The staff of St. Francis wishes you a most glorious Holy Day! Happy Easter! Medjugorje Pilgrimage Join Fr. Peter of St. Francis and Sr. Marcie Purpura For the 23rd Annual Youth Festival The youth festival attracts people of all ages, celebrations for everyone. July 28 - August 7, 2012 All Inclusive $2,749 from NYC

April 8, 2012 4 Time, Talent & Treasure Fostering Stewardship as a way of life (Regular Sunday Offertory) Last Sunday s weekly offering: TBA Last Year s Sunday offering: $11,029.00 3/25 Sunday offering: $10,343.50 Thanks for Giving First Fruits & Taking a Step!!! Bulletin Reflection Alleluia! Christ is risen and is victorious over sin and death! We are good stewards of our faith if, like St. Paul, we share this good news whenever and wherever we can. Living Stewardship We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish whose lives reflect the joy of Christ s Resurrection! April 8, 2012 Easter Sunday: Today as we celebrate the feast of Easter we find the challenge of also seeing and believing the resurrection that comes through our own lives of self-sacrifice which brings new life to others. As you place your gift in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Poor Box, know that you are a sign of God s love to those who are suffering and you give them Easter hope and joy. A Special Invitation to All Parishioners Catholicism A new program by Fr. Robert Barron April 10th at 8pm In the lower church (will continue through June) There are 10 sessions hosted by Fr. Peter. The program each night will last one hour, including a video and a ½ hour discussion each night. Christ is risen! As His disciples, we are called to go forth and spread the good news of Christ's Resurrection. The fruitful ministries at our parish are examples of how many of you have answered, and continue to answer, that call. To ensure such work can continue requires not only gifts of time, but also of financial help. I ask you to prayerfully consider supporting our parish with electronic donations through Faith Direct. You can find paper enrollment forms in the parish office, or you can sign up online at www.faithdirect.net by using our church code, NY350. Thank you and God Bless!

I wish to thank you and all your people for a wonderful response to the Holy Spirit & the Franciscan Spirit also this week! I did feel the Spirit flowing in a very special way at St. Francis! I really did! Got home safe & sound! Remember that envelope someone put under the door Wed nite?
